My thinking is that I add an authors note a the end of 'book' 1 so to speak and re-write the synopsis to advise any new readers that it will be 2 books in one. Alternatively, the other idea I had was to just have a longer book, but I don't want the length to scare off new readers. Thanks in advance! :)

Many times. The outline I started with isn't the story you just finished reading. Characters changed. Plot twists appeared out of nowhere. Some scenes refused to cooperate. With that said, I intend to go over the manuscript and create a more detailed outline that will combine the story as I had originally wanted it to be but will be more focused and better organised, it will better detail the prophecies and continue into the next generation so that we may see the fullfillment of the prophecies. I do not know when I will get around to this as I have a lot on my plate, but it is something I will be starting to look at as soon as I have a few works in progress completed, or near completion. I have many ideas that I would like to better flesh out so that the work flows better and goes off the rails less. Thank you.
