Writing A Novel Outline Template Novels & Stories

I'll give her the plot to turn into a novel with 60k words that contain two thousand words per chapter. After writing the criteria and plot, I set a timer sent by seven in the evening. I check what time it is, and it's already noon. It's lunchtime. I stand up, grab my phone, put it in my pocket, and then go outside the building. I invited Jericho to accompany me for lunch, and he agreed, but the other two - Marco and Takeshi- are not available as they have team sync up with their writers.

"Ouch, that just hurt me deep down to my soul." I pull out a piece of lined paper and say, "Kol." I jot down the main line and all the significant details of the novel, including the names of the major characters. "Here, you should be able to write your essay using this outline." I gave1 the paper to him. "I love you, Via. I will marry you one day." His joke makes me laugh. "That would be a terrible marriage, and my brother would murder me." I return to my own composition.

She had savings as well, but those had also been slowly decreasing month by month. When she pulled up her book outline, she started making notes to work through the plot holes she had come across as well as the backstory of each character. She had just started writing the first few pages, but her mind was elsewhere. After re-reading what she wrote, she thought that with some adjustments, she would have something to be proud of. Judging by the storyboard she had created, it was going to take her a long time to write the whole novel. She worked for a couple of hours, only stopping for a few moments to watch the sun as it rose from behind the building across the way and illuminated the trees in

"I'm sorry, okay? I was just imagining a plot from a feel-good story. If you don't like it, I won't do it again." We went to a different restaurant, and after lunch, we each headed home. As soon as I got back, I opened my laptop to update my novel. Mary had suggested splitting it into two parts—the production team planned to film the first part first, and if it performed well, they would then move on to the second. The first part had to be finished by the end of the year, or filming would be delayed. My schedule was tight. To keep up, I stayed at my computer late into the night and managed to write 20 thousand words in a single day.

“I wake early. Very early. Before the world becomes loud. That silence helps me think clearly.” She leaned in. “Routine?” “Very structured,” I said. “I start by rereading what I wrote the day before. I edit first, then continue. I write in blocks of time. Two hours of intense focus, then rest. Then repeat.” She scribbled something. “Do you plan everything before writing or discover the story as you go?” “A bit of both,” I admitted. “I outline major emotional turning points. But the characters… they surprise me. Sometimes they refuse to behave the way I planned.”

My fingers were cramping, my thesaurus was smoking, and I kept picturing my editor sending me an email with only one word: "Seriously?" I realized: I should just end it here, gloriously, before I completely lose my mind, break my keyboard, and start writing about the wallpaper pattern instead. Speaking of losing my mind... I pulled out my notes the other day. When I started outlining this story and figuring out the twists and turns, I came up with almost 60... maybe 50-something... different plot points and outlines just to keep the momentum going. Sixty! Fifty! I lost count! That's how dedicated I was to not making this story boring. That’s like a novella’s worth of rejected ideas!

My heart flutters in my chest, and I want so fucking badly to grab her, pin her body between mine and the car, and kiss her breathless. “Did you get a lot of writing done?” “Enough to make me feel productive,” she replies. “I saw that it’s supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I’ll hole up on the screened-in porch and plan to knock out a ton of words.” “Do you make an outline?” I open the car door for her and go around. “Not really,” she tells me as she pulls the seatbelt over her body. “My editor likes to review it, so I give her a super rough one. It’s a waste of time for me to make anything more than a rough outline. I change things too much.”

Author's note: The day has finally ended in our story. Next chapter is the beginning of a new day. So what do you think will happen in next chapter? Fun fact, even I am unsure. I can have a snack whenever I want. I set my laptop on the table along with my journal for plot planning. When it comes to plotting my novels and outlining my chapters, I’m highly old-school.
