25 March 1820 Rome, Italy Jacob was lounging on a chair and Mrs. Valentina Lombardi, the most sought after courtesan in Rome was sprawled on his lap, her lush body pressed to his as she tried to coax a reaction out of him. He knew all the other men watching him envied him. But for the life of him, he couldn't muster any enthusiasm for the act. Instead of finding her perfume enticing, he found it cloying. The smoke from the cigars made him feel suffocated.

You're exactly who I'm writing for. Writing romance — the steamy, unapologetic, adult kind — is genuinely the thing I love most. I love slow burns that make you yell at your screen. I love the moment two characters stop pretending they don't want each other. I love writing the tension right up until it snaps, and then writing what happens after. This genre gets dismissed a lot by people who've never actually read it, but I think it's some of the hardest, most emotionally honest writing there is, and I'm proud to spend my time here. I don't plan on going anywhere. This is home for me as a writer, and I intend to keep building worlds and couples and slow-burn chaos for as long as readers keep

My fingers hover over the keyboard for a moment before I start typing the title. Looking for one of the following. My hands are sweating, but I push through, hitting the content box and starting to type again. Author here! This is going to sound like some crazy-ass request, but I’m at a loss, and I don’t believe all criminals are evil—not entirely anyway. I pause, rereading the line. It sounds ridiculous. It is ridiculous. But I can’t stop now. I keep typing. So, here it is. I want to write a dark romance story. After many flops—not because of my writing, more like people just aren’t interested because my books aren’t different enough—I had another idea.

Author's POV What is Romance? this is the question I always asked myself and I found that........ Romance is the language of love. It is the way that you show your partner that you care about them. Every person has their own idea of what they might consider romantic. For some, it will be dressing up for the other or buying flowers or jewelry. There is no way to know what is romantic without knowing the person. Romance is created by the feeling that you are genuinely cared about. All romance has one thing in common; it must show the other person that you care enough to find out what is meaningful to them.

It pulled at something in me I should not possess. This is why I should stay away. I do not. Instead, I trace the faint pull of her thread until I find her again. She sits at her small desk, hair loosely tied back, laptop open, notebook waiting beside it. Her thumb rests on the trackpad as if she has been debating whether to write for some time. Then she exhales and begins. A romance manuscript. Her fingers move slowly across the keys. She writes of two souls drawn together by something deeper than fate. Two beings choosing one another even when the world insists they should not.

“I want a new one on the spot.” I furrowed my brows. “What do you want me to write?” He’s challenging me, so fine… let’s take the challenge! “What’s your genre?” he asked, now sitting on the leather chair opposite mine. “Contemporary romance, fantasy romance,” I answered, Joaquin giving me a single nod. “Alright. Then write something romantic,” he replied, giving more details. “A domineering man, softening to a sweet woman. Go.” I held the pen on my hand as I stared on the blank paper. I felt cold sweat on my back as I grew conscious of the fact that Joaquin, the famous author, watching me as he got a bottle of whiskey from the mini fridge beside his table.

Writing this story was an emotional journey for me as well. There were moments where I questioned choices, explored different possibilities for the characters, and thought deeply about what kind of ending would feel true to their journey. My goal was not just to create a romance, but to create an experience one that lingers with you even after you turn the final page.
