I don't write chapters directly on the site; I use a different program to write and then copy and paste into the site at the time of upload. Sometimes in the rush to get content to you, errors slip through. I'm grateful for your patience and understanding as I continue to learn and improve my publishing process.

I steel my resolve, my chest swelling with joy, I quickly type a brief message to my agent. *I have the opening chapters ready. Sending them over now.* With a steady hand, I export the file, attach the fresh chapters I just wrote, and hover my finger over the screen. Without letting myself hesitate for another second, I hit "Submit."

May came. I want to write this chapter differently from the recent ones. Not a development. Not a name found or a consultation or a step on the path. Just something true. Over the past several chapters I have been writing shorter and shorter chapters about quieter and quieter things. That has been honest in one sense. The eighth year is quieter than the earlier years. The work is sustaining rather than building. But I have also been doing something that I want to name directly. I have been extending the story because the story could be extended. Finding the next small development. The next observation. The next honest reflection. Each one genuinely part of the world we have built together.

I had barely slept, knowing Khalid was in the study with my words—my raw, unfiltered pain—laid bare before him. Every page he turned felt like another layer of my soul being exposed. The woman who had written those chapters late at night, tears blurring the screen, had never imagined the man who inspired them would one day read them.

I turn my focus back to the screen, feeling the weight of the story pressing against my fingertips, and dive into the chapters from his point of view. Each line becomes an exercise in truth, revealing bits of him that even I hadn’t fully realized before. I let myself go deeper, daring to write with honesty, capturing the tension and rawness of his thoughts, feeling his intensity seep into every sentence.
