How Many Words Should A Chapter Have Novels & Stories

Hey guys, We are a few chapters away from completion. And as much as I wanted to make the story longer by adding additional twists and turns, it's already longer than planned. It was initially a 75-ish chapter, but I later realized that some details would be abruptly cut, hence the extension.

The plan was to have it till 60 chapters and yet because of my characters moving on their own will, we arrived with 123 chapters. From November 11, 2020 till April 28, 2021. I write 123 chapters with a total of 203131 words. I wrote it with plans of letting people understand that we all have to be mindful of our worth, that we should treasure yourself and never let anyone tell us we are not worthy. Allana is like ¼ of who I am, she is a fragment of my imagination, and there is not a time that I wished I was her, to be loved by someone like Augustine Kings.

So gentlewolves (this is my nickname for my readers. I just came up with it, what do you my gentlewolves think?) So on to the reason why I am writing this note before the start of the chapter... I was wondering that maybe my chapters are too long So I'll be making it shorter Now instead of the 1k+ words I usually write I'll be writing 600-700 words from now till further notice That is if you my gentlewolves are happy with it

But before him, he had some other things to be taken care of, other things like, Bree Lively. ______________________________________ Hey guys, I wanted to clear one thing, I don't know why you guys think the chapters are short when I have always written the same amount of words. My chapters had always been from 1500 words to 2500 words, and sometimes I write longer when i feel like it's needed to be written longer in a chapter otherwise my minimum words had always been 1500 words and then go on. Whenever I write short chapter like shorter than 1500 words I always mention in my author note and apologise for it, but last chapter was 1600 words and this one is 2100 words.

Anyone wants to help me with editing of chapters ? I am thinking of having some rederss to help m with it . You will have to edit at least hundred or thousand words per day. Since that is the amount of words that are right and fourth chapter or somewhere around two thousand I'm not sure if you are interested or not but just a sort of helping me since I'm overloaded with other work but I can write the chapter and give it to you and then later on you can see and edit them hope that works out

We suggest you to keep your each chapter between 0.8k-1k words. This isn’t a hard and fast rule, but readers might balk at chapters that fall short or go too far over this wordcount. You can adjust your chapter's length according to your own needs.

The word count equates to the coins so if a particular chapter costs a lot of coins , it's because the word count is quite high and it took a while to write it .
