They were the same height—two opposites inches apart. The gray werewolf stood calm, steady, grinning. The black one panted, glaring, jaw clenched tight.
“Seriously, Duncan. This is not the time.”
Valentine appeared through the dust the black wolf had kicked up—still naked, waving debris away with a grimace. She must’ve fallen off Duncan’s back when he charged ahead.
Duncan’s expression twitched, softening at the sight of her limping. He let out a low growl at Lucas, then dipped his head toward Valentine in something like an apology before moving toward Selene.
