It occurred to Merlin that werewolves didn't normally have red eyes, something was wrong with these werewolves and the more she thought about it, the more convinced she became. The werewolves were not rogues, they were under a powerful spell and instinctively, she knew that only another witch could cast such a spell. It had black furs and long sharp pointed canine that looked sharp enough to rip iron apart. It stared at me like a predator stalking its prey, waiting for the perfect moment to lunge.

I feel out of place and out of my element. I find him talking to Emlyn who races back inside and Emerson, who rushes to leave. When he tells me they think Alpha Wyatt is working with the witches, I know it can’t be Maeve. She’s a sweet woman. Quinn and I are confident that she’s Xander’s mate and we know that she was only protecting her younger siblings when she cast that spell on Rich.
