Xander laughed wryly. I leaned back. I had warned him about Azalea's real face, and apparently now he had seen it. Xander turned to me. The pulse in his jaw popped out. "Even to the ends of the earth I will find Jasmine again. Because she is my daughter." The seriousness of his words was reflected in Xander's red eyes as our gazes locked. Even without a mating bond, I could tell that by now Xander's anger was nothing but bubbling up in the air. However he knew better that there was no point in throwing a tantrum, he used his common sense and went to face me to admit his failure.

His sword fell from his hand. He pulled out the sword and shifted to his wolf. Jeremy shifted to his wolf too, and they started fighting. Because I and Jeremy shared the same bond he was stronger, and taken out Xander's wolf. The arrows kept raining from an unknown place, killing Xander's men. Xander discovered most of his men were down so he growled louder for a retreat, and they streamed out of the Freeway pack in their wolf form. However, the raining arrows were able to strike one of the wolves streaming out. I

“The rogue army. Led by him.” As if on cue, the crimson-eyed figure appears on the hill. His coat flutters like wings, and his eyes locate mine instantaneously. “Aria!” he calls. “Come to me. You know this is your genuine path!” “No!” I yell. “This is my home!” He smiles, but it’s frigid. “Then let it burn.” He raises his hand…and the ground underneath the village erupts into flame. I scream as the flames come toward us. Xander grabs my hand. “We fight together.”

“You too?” Xander shrugs in the nonchalant, elegant way that all of my brothers have. The way that makes she-wolves swoon over all three of them. “The human schools close for winter break, so here I am. Plus, I want to see who the lucky guy is that Emlyn identifies as her mate,” Xander says and I can tell that, just like me, he’s pretty sure that Emlyn and Rich are mates.
