Xavier's smile was deceptively warm, but Augustine's smirk was openly hostile. "It's good to see you, Kayla,” Xavier drawled, eyes twinkling with mischief as he blatantly ignored Adrian’s hard stare. “I was beginning to think you might change your mind.” Adrian stepped forward protectively, his voice cool. “Kayla is here to get answers, not to entertain your pathetic attempts at flirting.” Xavier chuckled dryly, unfazed. “Always the protector, Adrian. But tell me, can you protect her from the truth? Or better yet, from herself?”

Every memory he had was being overwritten, scenes of torture and agony being stamped onto the mental photographs. Star quickly nodded and before he could cut the call she asked in a hurry. "Is Vina.... alright?" "Oh." Her heart sank listening to this one word. "Yes, she is." He cut the call and Star felt relieved. She was alright. .............. Xavier rubbed the back of his neck and licked his dry lips. Xavier turned slightly, addressing not just Ivan but the thirty people now watching without appearing to watch. "Lyra Ashwood stands under my protection." He said it simply, without theatre, without raising his voice. "Any insult to her is an insult to the Silverfang throne. If anyone in this room needs that clarified further…" He looked back at Ivan, and his voice dropped to something quieter and more final. "Touch her again. And I will not stop at your jaw."

She warned and turned back to Xayne. "You mean you haven't heard the name Shane before?". She inquired. "Um I have". 'Good". She drew a chair and sat in front of Xayne. "Now tell me where?". "Um it's a TV show, you have watched The Walking Dead right?, he was one of my favorite characters". Xayne explained.. "You fool". She roared rising to get feet. She punched Xayne's face really hard and she groaned. "Why are you trying to protect him, what is the bond? Xavier cleared the distance between them in a single, blinding blur of motion. His right obsidian blade drove straight through the enforcer’s throat, the dark fluid spraying across the frozen mud as Xavier twisted the steel and kicked the heavy body backward into the rushing water.

Xavier’s voice boomed through the concrete chamber, a terrifying, gravelly roar that made the rogue insider jump. The man didn't run. He drew a heavy metal tactical flashlight from his belt and lunged at Xavier, swinging wildly in the dark. Xavier didn't even flinch. His alpha instincts took over. He dodged the swing with brutal efficiency, his large hand snapping out to grab the man’s wrist, twisting it until the heavy flashlight clattered to the concrete floor. With a display of raw, overwhelming physical dominance, Xavier slammed the intruder against the wall, his arm pinning the man's chest so hard the rogue gasped for air.
