Immediately, two Wolf’s Den members got into a car, prepared to give chase. Yet, Tyr’s voice suddenly called out faintly, “Don’t. Let them go.” Getting into his car, Tyr took out his phone and called Noah. Someone needed to take care of this mess, and something like this was naturally Noah’s job. Half an hour later, Noah arrived at the border marker with a dozen cars. When he saw the tragic scene before him, he felt his scalp prickle as well. When he saw the blood on the stone tablet and how the broken blade was stabbed into it, Noah sucked in a cold breath.

Nox let out a low, guttural sound in the back of his throat. “I swear to you as an Alpha and your mate that they won’t get away with what they’ve done to you. I’m going to kill them all. I’m going to wipe Gideon’s pack from the fucking map, and destroy every camp, safe house, and facility Phineas owns. Once we’re done, there won’t be anyone left to hurt you.” I licked at my dry lips and croaked, “I want to help. I—I need to help.” Nox grabbed a glass of water from the beside table and pressed it into my hands. I nearly dropped it, marveling at how cold the condensation felt against my skin. I guzzled it so quickly that my stomach clenched painfully.

Alex inquired, but his question was met with silence. As the mysterious potion coursed through Alex's veins, unease washed over him. His vision blurred, and he felt a sudden surge of power and vitality, but at the same time, an unsettling darkness crept into his mind. The room seemed to distort, and he struggled to maintain his balance as he gripped the table for support. Azaroth observed him closely, a sinister smile playing on his lips. She had to admit that she wasn’t all that confident it would work out when she gave Tyler the task of luring Noah over with Lola. But she knew that because her brother was a workaholic, he would still keep in touch with Tyler to discuss business, wherever he was.

Noah growled and leaped over the coffee table, pouncing on her. His strength and momentum tipped back the sofa and she squealed as he landed on her, a blade coming to her throat. “I’d be careful, Serenity. I know of three other Skin Writers in the world. I could gut you right now and the world would keep ticking over.” She stared up at the flaming orbs of Noah before her gaze shifted to the side. Thorne was standing over them, an amused glint in his eyes. “You’ve pissed him off.”

"We're developing new techniques. Stronger metals. Better designs. This is how we maintain our power. How we protect our pack from enemies like Lucien." A young worker approached nervously. "Alpha Noah, we need your approval on the new blade designs." Noah nodded. "Watch her," he told Neal, then followed the worker into the maze of forges. The moment Noah was out of earshot, Neal turned to me, his eyes full of anguish. "I'm so sorry," he whispered. "I never wanted you involved in this part of our lives." I wrote with trembling fingers. Lexon smiled, and for the first time, he didn't mind the silly nickname.
