"Are you sure you're okay with this?" Jaxon said low and careful from his place at the door to the living room, his hand resting on the frame. His eyes were on me, like he was trying to gauge whether I meant it when I said everything was fine. I stood at the window, staring out as snow fell in languid flakes, casting a pale luminance over everything in sight. Christmas was looming, yet somehow, it didn't feel quite as festively joyful as it had other years.

And Noah, in front of everyone, let go of my hand to pass a gift box to Heidi. "Heidi, your Christmas present." Heidi excitedly tore it open. When she pulled out the worn pocket watch inside, she pouted. "Noah, you're so rich. Why are you giving me something this old?" Noah smiled without answering. But I froze completely. I'd seen that pocket watch before, in the portrait of Noah's late father.

Epilogue “I believe in Karma. If the good is sown, the good is collected. When positive things are made, that returns well.” -Yannick Noah *** ~Anna Four years later… Pure white snow blanketed the ground and surrounded trees. I sipped the hot chocolate welcoming the warmth as I sat on the cold porch on a Sunday evening. Life has been smooth and I was happy after a long time. It’s Christmas, Saxon and Gabriel are traveling with their families to Portland this time.

Aria's POV "Aria! Over here!" I turned and beheld Aunt Mira waving her arms as she had a great big smile on her face. She was running my way before I could think, and threw her arms open and embraced me. “Oh, dear,” she said , cupping my face. "Look at you! You've grown so much." "Aunt Mira, don't embarrass me." She ignored me completely. “You have always been studying overseas. Never spent a single holiday at home. You have become a young woman before my very eyes.”

No big surprise. "Huh. There's actually a pretty big section. You need a book on spells for gardening? Or how about one titled Weather Magicks? There's even one for love charms and a volume on breaking hexes. Nothing about magical Christmas decorations so far." "Try looking under 'Holiday'," she suggested. "This has something to do with your family, remember." "Good thinking." He moved again and Shelby went back to searching the desk.

Christmas is the time of the year where there's lots of sweets to chow on, snow, ice skating and I get a lot of presents from Santa aka dad. My last Christmas wasn't all that memorable, I didn't go skating as was tradition and the tree wasn't filled with present, just a little here and there. Mary Lou our cook was in depression and from my mom shouting hear and there —she was in a sour mood too— most the food ended up burnt. I cried throughout Christmas until the next day. But this Christmas is going to be better, yes no daddy but there's mummy and there's Aaron and Jesse and Nadine and Peyton. Let's not forget Liv my personal fighter.

I let out a soft laugh, "Psh, so? It's good to have that Christmas feeling because it's Christmas!" "No, it's not." He smiled at how childish I was acting. "December 25th is Christmas. Today is December the 5th. I don't get why everybody goes all out way before the big day." "Yeah, I get that it's the 25th but Christmas isn't just a day, it's a season!" I said in a soothing voice, smiling as I did. "Christmas is December. Back home, we don't put down our Christmas tree until New Years Eve."

Seconds later, Gabby stumbled in while rubbing her eyes. "Merry Christmas, baby!" Maya said excitedly. Gabby walked over to Maya and sat on her lap before falling asleep again. Giovanni walked in and chuckled at the sight of Gabby sleeping. "Gabby?" Maya called out. "Don't you want to see what Santa got you?" Gabby's eyes opened, and she looked around and saw the tree. She tried to get up but stumbled. Maya put her next to her and laughed. "Daddy and I will pass you your gifts, okay? Just stay there."

The wolves can't keep their eyes down; they shift subtly to watch them, trying to comprehend who this girl is—this stranger who somehow commands their Alpha's attention in a way no one else does. "I've been around this town," Ivy starts. "And?" Jackson interrupts, but Kai's glare makes him back off. "Christmas day is around the corner, and it looks like a ghost town." Ivy doesn’t flinch or look away from Kai. "Maybe that's what everyone is used to here, but life can be enjoyable—especially during Christmas. I'm thinking we could organize some activities for the season, bring everyone together, and spread some warmth. For the first night—" "You called my attention for this nonsense?"
