Seven Years

Seven Years

Then Helen and Richard left, saying that they would come to see me tomorrow. Jeffrey stood outside the door, hesitant to leave. "Audrey, we can never be together again, right?" Hearing this, Kash wanted to go up and hit him, but I stopped Kash. "Yes. "I’ve been unhappy for the past seven years. Jeffrey, how many seven years are there in one’s life?"

A year and half

A year and half

"Good Morning. Mr. Fobster is unavailable at the moment." "I'm happy to wait," "If you wish." She motioned to the plush couch situated near the floor-to-ceiling windows that illuminated the San Francisco skyline at its brightest. Taking the cue, I headed toward it and sat, trying to calm my nerves by doing the breathing exercise I picked up from watching Jane the virgin. Inhala . . . Exhala . . . Inhala . . . Exhala . . . As minutes dragged by, I repeated the routine and it did seem to be working for me because I didn't feel as tensed as I was when I walked in, but the minute the elevator dinged, everything went from a hundred to one.

Yearning for Her Return

Yearning for Her Return

"First of all, I've cut ties with Jessica, so please don't bring her up anymore. Don't harbor any unnecessary feelings because of her." Rebecca was stunned. She couldn't comprehend David's words. Then, she was handed a phone. It was unlocked, and the screen lit up. She heard David say, "Look at the date." Her aggrieved expression turned into shock, and her reddened eyes slowly widened. Her mouth was agape, and she was lost for words. "It's … 2023 already?" "Obviously! What year do you think it is?" David tried to impersonate Daniel's speech.

Ellen Addawe
I like the depth of this book, the character of the FL wherein she learns a lot in her life experiences, her moving on from the past and enjoying her life in the present. Not the typical love story wherein after all the heartaches, betrayal & rejection, still the FL gives the ML a second chance.
Blessing Sam-somanya
I stopped reading this book the moment Rebecca got married to someone else and Daniel is dying of late stage cancer, after all he suffered in the hands of his evil brother and family, I expected a happy ending for him and Rebecca but the writer chose other wise. He doesn't deserve this tragic ending

Let The Years Be

Let The Years Be

After a long stretch of focused work, she was finally done. The building had quieted down completely. She flicked on her phone for a bit of mindless scrolling. That was when a message from Helen popped up. Without a second thought, Chloe tapped it open. [Why didn't you 'like' my post?] A minute barely passed before another message followed. [Oops! Sorry, Chloe. Wrong person. Don't be upset, okay?] Driven by curiosity, Chloe checked Helen's social media feed to see what the fuss was about. Her screen was filled with photo after photo of presents from Andrew and Stephen, including a luxurious pink princess gown laying spread out, resembling a fluffy pink cloud.

Last Year of Seventeen

Last Year of Seventeen

That was enough to distract Gwen who showered Royce with kisses while saying, "Oh I am so proud of you Roycee-boo! What a great way to start the day!" This time, August was watching them. She looked happy for them but also disgusted by them. She turned to me and said, "Weirdos," while rolling her eyes. Royce then toured us to his photo exhibit. Thirteen pieces of photos which he called The Last Year of Seventeen– his concept was the final year of highschool. The final year of freedom and youth. The final year before we are faced with bigger challenges and choices that would actually impact our lives. Most of the photos were taken in the Academy. Some in the Liberty Mead with Royce’s horse. Saying Yes to Adventure

Saying Yes to Adventure

Seven years later. "Breathe, Sophie,... In and out... One... two... three..." Sophie was a bundle of nerves as she attempted to steady her trembling hands enough to apply her make-up. It had been three days since the suspicious package wrapped in brown paper had been mysteriously left on her doorstep. She'd have been in less of a state right now if it hadn't taken her two days to work up the courage to open it.

HURT IN A YEAR

HURT IN A YEAR

Lylah sat down, blocking Raj from her vision and blocking his voice as well. The public needs something new, something fresh, production companies need this, it is a hit novel by our very own editor, Lylah Jeurgens, Ladies and Gentlemen, I present, Hurt In A Year", Raj clapped. The auditorium erupted with series of clapping. Lylah abruptly stood to her feet, looking around frantically. What in the world was going on?, This wasn't the book she agreed to pitch. Was Raj trying to set her up?, How did he even know about Hurt In A Year?

Yearning For A Home

Yearning For A Home

After half a year, they only took the money and no longer replied. At that point, Thomas's phone rang. He hurried off to clock out. I took one last look at Lisa's file, then stood up and went home. In the shower, I pulled off my scarf and exposed the vicious, ugly scar on my neck. Samantha had caused it. Ten years ago, in the spring, I couldn't reach her—and Zane had vanished too. Gritting my teeth, I used the last of my money to buy a cheap plane ticket and went to look for her.

YES NURSE

YES NURSE

“I have been working with you boys for the past ten years, and it has never happened once. This is a joyful occasion! I am going to march right back into that kitchen and make extra blueberry scones and stuffed French toast to celebrate this.” “There is no need to make anything extra, Mrs. Higgins,” the brother on the right countered. His tone was cold and dismissive. But Spirit’s eyes narrowed as she watched his posture. “Oh, it is absolutely necessary,” the brother on the left spoke up, his lips twitching in a way that made Spirit’s skin crawl. Chase….
