You Delilah

At the peak of my career, my husband slapped me in public.  With a look of disgust, he said, “Tess, you’re pathetic. You made Grace fail the class because you’re jealous. Don’t you know she’s applying for a scholarship?” Caught off guard, I stumbled and fell to the ground, clutching my stomach as pain surged through me. I knelt there, begging him to take me to the hospital.  However, all he did was swat my hand away and sneer. “Quit the act! Aren’t you just a useless woman who can’t get pregnant?” At that moment, my heart felt like it had shattered into a million pieces. It wasn’t long before bystanders intervened, insisting on taking me to the hospital. Unfortunately, it was too late to save the baby. When the Earth slipped into a relentless, record-breaking heat, I exhausted everything I had to develop a constant-temperature shelter. He was about to develop a new type of shelter, yet you stole all the credit! I’ll make you pay with your life!” Even after my death, her hatred didn’t fade. She ordered someone to skin me and turn my hide into a rug, stepping on it every day. When I opened my eyes again, I was back to the day I tried to stop her from sunbathing with Mark Davis.

"S..oo it..t wa..s all a liee" I stuttered unable to find a complete sentence due to the fact that I was shoken at the conversation I just heard eairler on. "I can...." I heard Xander begin but didn't let him finish as I turned to Reena's direction. "So yo..u al...so kn...ew" I turned to the direction of Reena totally shocked while still trying to get out a sentence completely but still failing miserably at it, due to my trembling lips. "I swear Aneesa,I tried to tell you but he made me promise not to....that he would tell you himself at his own will cause he had fallen in love with you" she said hurriedly while looking at me with worry and fear evident in her eyes. "Babe listen to me I can explain" "Don't you dare call me that" I snapped finally getting my voice back since the time I walked into the apartment, while storming out of the door with tear streaming down my face.

“Say it…Tell me to go and I promise you’ll never see me again”. She said to me but I didn’t want that to happen, not now not ever. “Is that what you want?” I spoke softly hoping she would take back her words and she only said it as a moment of weakness. “No…I want you” I found myself utterly speechless when she made this revelation. God, I wanted her too but I could only confess my feelings in my heart. Everywhere went silent.
