I need him to turn away from Lily, just for a second.
“Over there,” I say, nodding toward a stack of crates on the far side of the warehouse. “We shoot at those. The first one to hit the mark wins.” I propose.
Victor hesitates, his eyes flicking to Lily, then back to me. He’s suspicious, but his ego’s too big to back down. “Don’t try anything stupid, Hera,” he warns, but he’s already moving, turning his back on Lily as he heads toward the crates.
