"It's not glowing. It's just... grass." "Where is Sam?" I asked. We stood up, our legs heavy and stiff. In the center of the park, sitting on a bench, was Sam. He looked older, somehow. His hair was messy, and he looked exhausted, but his eyes were clear. He wasn't holding a phone. He was holding a **Notebook**. "You're awake," Sam said, a tired smile crossing his face. "What happened?" I asked, walking toward him. "The tower... the Aethel-Group... the stream..."

"Is it your first time here?" "Third. Also, hopefully the last. The other answered, proceeding to close her book and turn the lights off. "Better go to sleep, Sam. Tomorrow is going to be a long ass day, she said, already giving him her back. Sam stared at the dark ceiling for a little while, basking in the silence, before his world turned black again. ________ TIME SKIP

I added, echoing what I’d said during our first bet. Sam’s hand found my knee again, and his lips were suddenly by my ear. "You’re going to pay for a comment like that," he whispered darkly. Butterflies erupted in my stomach. "I choose the one with the sword." Sam’s fighter hurled his sword at my chosen fighter, driving it straight into his stomach. That morning when Emma woke up, she grabbed the book Sam had gifted her and began reading. "I now see why Gideon keeps investing in bars. " Emma muttered to herself. Gideon! she said in her mind and immediately remembered him. She thought about New York. She knew she missed the place and needed to see her parents. She will go there right after building her empire she thought and continued reading the book. Sam woke up that morning and made his way to Emma's room. He knocked on her door and she invited him in. He pushed the door open and smiled at Emma who was reading the business book he gifted her earlier.
