Touched as, at last all my hard work is beginning to pay off. The meeting goes on for quite some time. We talk about topics, the book’s content, intended audience, marketing plans and technical aspects such as the book’s dimensions and the kind of paper to select. It all seems tangible now. I do my utmost to stay engaged despite some jargon still being new to me. “For the demographic we’re focusing on late teens to young adults," a marketing team member states while presenting a slide. I’ve got my favourite novel I love to read, perched on the table in front of me, waiting patiently to be read by me. A teenage girl and her boyfriend sat a few tables to our top right sharing a book I recognized as the fourth series of ‘Yona of the Dawn’, with his arm slung loosely over her shoulder. The other tables were occupied with kids under 12 and 18. So you can just imagine how odd two grown ass women who could pass for characters in Suites look sitting here. Two thirteen year olds just confirmed my thought by eyeing us, shielding their mouths to whisper about us as they passed by.

She’s rather young, compared to my other readers, but her eyes are bright and they sparkle with the admiration of someone meeting their idol. A bit offputting, seeing as what I write for a living. I’m not embarrassed by any means, okay sometimes I can be, but I didn’t know my stories had reached such a young generation.
