Hearing someone at my door, my body tensed as I stood from the dirty dishes. I watched as the young Omega walked in and cleared my dishes. “Thank you,” I said, as she simply smiled and walked out of the room without saying a word. He had them well trained. They all lived in fear of him, but he had met his match. I could take whatever abuse he wanted to dish out. I would not allow him to break me. I would find my way back to Carson.

The elderly man then turned to the crowd and dismissed them. However, the pinewood scent continued to fill my nostrils, and I regretted that I had to come here and find my mate. Who was that?
