Kael didn’t mind not having a clan. His steps hesitated briefly in front of the room before he finally made up his mind and entered Eira’s messy room. A strange scent pierced Kael’s senses. It was like the pungent smell of blood mixed with a faint fragrance. “Why does her room smell like this?” he muttered as he walked toward the bed. He found a copy of *The End of Hanahaki* lying on top of the mattress—stained with blood. Kael opened the book and began reading. He noticed several sentences that had been underlined, as if they were important points. Then, on one page, three whole, dried cherry blossoms fell out of the book.

The woman climbed a short ladder and began pulling down a few books. “These should help,” she said, setting five large, dusty tomes on a nearby table. “Sorry about the condition they’re ancient. Let me know if you need anything.” “Thank you,” Anna said as the woman walked away. Rhea and Anna sat cross-legged on the floor beside the table, surrounded by the stack of heavy books. Their covers were worn, their spines cracked, and the pages yellowed with time. Each had a unique title: 'Tales of the Mystical Creatures', 'Powers', 'Hidden Behind the Voice', and two others with faded letters too difficult to read.
