I found their crushing machine deep in the yard, rolled the bike into it and started playing taps on my phone; placing the phone on the seat as I backed up to the controls. I cried a little as I watched my baby squish into an unrecognizable metal cube along with the phone, any trace I was in the gang now nothing more than a square of metal in a random junkyard. The phone was just a fancy burner, nothing to cry over as it was ground to rubble along with the bike. The SIM card along with it. I picked up my saddlebags and skedaddled out of there, heading to the nearest dealership of bikes. I found a crotch rocket I paid cash for on the spot; not really my style, but it would do.

I wiggled around the chair trying to get off the ropes that bound me with the chair, anger and fear cursing through me as I stared at Xavier's dark deep orbs that exuded venom and the smug smile that spread against his lips. "Why are you doing this, Xavier?" I spat, firing my words at him like bullets. His smile grew wider. "You're just a pawn in a bigger game, Lyra. This is about Sage. Don’t worry princess, I may or may not hurt, so I won’t make any promises”

I dried my hands on a towel and walked to the window, telling myself I was being dramatic. Rain had started falling, big fat drops hitting the glass. The streetlights made everything look blurry and yellow. And then I saw it. Matte-black Harley, silver claw marks scratched into the tank exactly like the ones I just painted today. Exactly like the ones Knox put on my old bike when we were seventeen and stupid in love. The bike slowed down… circled once… twice… then rolled to a stop right in front of my building. My stomach dropped to my feet. The rider sat there for a second, rain pouring off his helmet. Then he reached up, pulled it off slow, and shook out wet black hair.

Haku nodded. “Just a bit further from here.” He pointed to the left. Something beside the door caught his attention. It was a bipedal vehicle, green in color, and has a back seat. It was a green bike. “Is this your bike?” “Yes, it is.” Jai smiled. He turned the bike around and seated himself on it. He then looked at Haku. “Let’s go.”
