****okay so last chapter Devon got a little frisky with Jennifer. This chapter is all about her and how her feelings for Jennifer developed. This chapter gives a whole new outlook to Soulmates but that is all I'm saying. You have to read in order to find out... Hehehehe enjoy**** Devon POV junior year of high school...

She looked even more confused. "A fate?" I nodded. "A female reaper with slightly different powers then a regular reaper. They can see the future to a degree and something called soul splicing. It only works if you are with your proper mate though." "That doesn't sound fun." I smiled at her. "Basically the instant the twins are removed from me while I'm being stitched up Sylvia is going to attach a piece of Aidens soul to mine to prevent me from dieing, after which I will be an immortal. Don't look so concerned it won't hurt anyone and the piece taken from them grows back relatively quickly from what Sylvia told me."

Cosmo replied and added, “Based on the transferred files that I have scanned through, there is a 98.2% probability that Dr Johnson was working on a way to reverse engineer the virus into a cure. Most likely, before settling for the soul transference option.” “Absolutely brilliant,” Dr Yomi said aloud as he burst into raucous laughter. “Cosmo, duplicate his files.” Dr Yomi instructed his AI. “Keep videos of the process on my secure server.” “Soul transference would have made me immortal...” Dr Yomi said, “but a cure for the virus will make me the most powerful person on the planet.” Then he burst into raucous laughter. “You have a call,” Cosmo said, “It is Scorpion.”

Blue squeezed my hand tighter, silently giving me strength. Leo ran a hand over his face. “Hell… is this a joke? June? Like the month June? You’re telling me you’re not Chloe? That Nikolai killed you and somehow you woke up in her body?” “Yeah,” I whispered. “That’s exactly what I’m saying.” He looked between Blue and me, searching our faces for any sign that this was all an elaborate prank. When he found none, he stood up abruptly. “I… I don’t need this wine right now. I need some water. Can I use your kitchen? And maybe the toilet?”

"But it would take something powerful. Something dangerous." "What? Tell me. I'll do anything." "A soul exchange." Her expression turns grave. "Someone living trades places with someone dead. The living person goes to the between place. The dead person returns." Horror and hope war inside me. "You mean I could bring her back. If I died in her place." "Yes." My mother squeezes my hand. "But Aurora. Listen to me. If you do this, you don't come back. Ever. The exchange is permanent. Final. You'd be choosing death. Forever."

She was my only family. Taking a deep breath, I braced myself. "Promise me you won't scream when I tell you what's going on," I said, my voice barely a whisper. Liv's eyes widened, a mixture of confusion and concern flickering across her face. "What's going on?" I closed my eyes, waiting for a moment before finally speaking, releasing the words if wanted to say to someone since this whole swap started days ago, "I swapped places with Ashton," I confessed. The silence that followed my confession was so thick, a knife wouldn't be able to cut through it. Liv's face slowly turned pale, her eyes wide with shock. She blinked rapidly as if trying to process the information.

Her dark aura did not change when she turned to Giselle and cocked her head to the side. "They are dead now, Giselle. They wouldn't have the powers to control Lilian or her child again..." She said, "And, I know how you can save the child... My life is already worthless as it is, but if it would sustain that baby's life, then swap it with mine." Even Ayana froze in shock. How had she come up with that? That was an ancient ritual in the coven, and one could swap a living soul for a dead one. Would Giselle be willing to do that?

Nakamura I said as I walked over to the kitchen were there were. Chloe grabbed my arms winking as she pulled me. I followed her upstairs to her room. She pulled out her laptop, I did my research," she said. The screen was filled with tabs: Occult Forums, Astral Displacement, Ancient Soul-Swapping Myths. "Look at this," she pointed to a thread. "It says that soul-swapping usually happens during a moment of high emotional trauma or extreme desire. It’s called 'Vessel Displacement.' But there’s always a catalyst. A ritual, a mirror, or an object.”

Everyone in our neighborhood knew me as the meek full-time housewife. I had no income and no social life. Every hour of every day went to the kitchen, my child, and my hypercritical mother-in-law, Sofia Carter. Yet when I woke up, I had somehow swapped bodies with my insufferably smug husband, Kevin Carter. My phone lit up as he sent one mocking message after another: [Olivia, you act like having a baby entitles you to lie around at home all day, watch the kid, and throw together a couple of meals.] [For your information, this swap is permanent. I can finally get some rest.] [Don't run your mouth at my office. That management job is way beyond what a brain that never even made it through col

He couldn’t be Augus. Yet his voice—his voice—remained the same. Soul swap. The thought shot through my mind, electrifying. Augus could have exchanged his soul for the body of this old werewolf to do this. But was it true? Soul swapping sounded as absurd as the first time I’d learned about magic. If my theory was wrong, I was as good as dead. The werewolf was agile, and those sharp claws could slit my neck with a single motion.
