Now she stood alone near a shelf filled with business and self-development titles, absentmindedly running her fingers across the spines. The familiar scent of paper and ink brought back memories she hadn't thought about in years.

Chloe fears that she might lose control of her emotions. She started experiencing a rapid heartbeat. Liquids dripped from her skin, and Chloe could not believe she was sweating with her air conditioning at sixteen degrees Celsius. Chloe then tries to wipe away the sweat but begins shivering and feeling chills in her bones. "Chloe, I am already seeing..." Steven tried to tell her about Julie, but he stopped himself, knowing that she had stopped sobbing, and he did not want to upset her. "I am sorry. I should not have asked such a silly question." Chloe replied. At this time, Steven could barely understand the words she was saying because of how badly her voice was quivering.

Could I survive for two years in this cold, soulless mansion, carrying a child who wouldn't even be biologically mine, then walk away with a massive check? My fingers gripped the sheets hard. I had no choice. Frustrated with myself, I sighed and sat up before swinging my legs over the bed. It was unusually quiet; the stillness made even a single thought laugh loud, and every worry felt heavier. I needed the fresh air. I crept out of the room and went downstairs. The mansion was dark, filled only by the dim glow of moonlight that filtered in through the enormous windows. Stepping out onto the balcony, I folded my hands around myself as the night air sent a shiver up my being.

Chloe’s POV The warm scent of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, the steady hum of the espresso machine a constant comfort in the otherwise quiet Chapters & Coffee. Chloe wiped down the counter for what felt like the hundredth time, her mind wandering as she looked out the window. The rain had started pouring heavily, a dark blanket settling over the city. She liked it when it rained—there was something soothing about it, like the world slowed down just a bit.

I ask him, watching his lip curl in disgust. “Are you serious?” “Yeah!” “What flavor ice cream?” he asks, reaching over to take one of my crackers. I shrug. “Vanilla. No, chocolate!” “Chocolate ice cream and dill pickles. Right. I’ll make sure the kitchen is stocked and let Cathal know he’s in charge of making sure you have as much as you want.” I can feel his disgust through the bond, but I feel like I could eat both of those things right now.

She thought and looked at Chloe, who quickly turned her head away when she saw Elise looking at her. "I don't know what rules they gave you but If I'm capable, I could have been out of here since, don't you think? Elise didn't receive any response from Chloe. She stood up and walked to her. "I need you to open this for me," She stretched the book to her, and to her surprise, Chloe was able to open it. Elise noticed the book changed when it got to Chloe's hand and the pages were blank. She collected it from her, and the book changed to the unopened one. " What's happening?" She muttered under her breath as she stared deeply at the book title.

At least it would fill her up and cool her off. She closed the fridge and pressed the cool can to her forehead, closing her eyes and leaning against the stove. Who would have guessed she’d find heaven in an ice-cold aluminum can? Especially when she’d already found it in the hot, sultry prose of the nineteenth-century book. Slowly, she trailed the can down over her nose, her chin, down her neck to her cleavage. It felt wonderful, and she was just so damn hot.

“Would you like another drink?” “No, I’m good. Thank you.” “Let me help you with that then.” He grabbed the glass from my hand and our hands brushed against each other, sending a shiver through my body. “Cold?” “A little.” Yeah. That’s definitely an excuse. What was that for real though? It felt like my whole body was on fire for that split second. I wonder if he felt it too. “Where are you headed to after the party? Maybe I could drop you on my way home.”

we were until our junior year in high school every thing change and she started behaving like she was attack by a zombie. Zombie land double tap cool movie. Chole wasn't cool she was opposite of that hot....eww not that type of hot...hot as in volcano eruption hot. It like she hated seeing me happy for some unhuman reason and that why now I try my best to always appear sad in her presence so she wouldn't know what going on about me and try her best to destroy me. I snapped out of another murderous thought about chole. Maybe I should write a book about1000ways to kill chole.
