His presence enveloped her, heavy, commanding, like a storm waiting to break. He picked up one cube between his fingers and brought it to her lips. “Open.” She obeyed. The ice met her tongue, shockingly cold, a jolt to her senses. Then he dragged it slowly down her throat, the chill tracing fire in its wake. The contrast was electric. Her body quivered in confusion, unsure whether to tense or melt. Cold raced over heat, igniting sparks in her spine, between her legs, under every inch of her skin.

By morning, the blizzard had sealed the estate in silence. Snow pressed thickly against every window, muting the world into something distant and unreachable. Even sound felt swallowed, softened, as though the house itself had decided nothing from outside mattered anymore. Chloe, as usual, was immune to atmosphere. “There’s an après-ski thing happening at one of the lodges,” she announced, hopping into a neon pink puffer jacket. “Spiked cocoa. Fire pits. Hot guys pretending they know how to ski.”Emphasis on the hot guys,she giggled.

"Why am I still here?" Sharlynn patted her cheeks. Seeing Richie's cold expression made her consciousness seem to freeze. It had only been two days since the man had begun to warm Sharlynn's heart, and suddenly, just because of a necklace, the man was frozen like a polar iceberg. Deciding to return to the kitchen, Sharlynn removed the fruits and vegetables from the bag and arranged them in the refrigerator. Her hazel eyes glanced at the watch on her left wrist. The time passed so quickly.

Then blackness. Shit. I finally come to the realization that I was taken. I test my body for injury, but find only old scars and working limbs. I feel no pain, but I cannot escape the icy bite of the marble. I look around for my bag and I find it thrown in a corner of the tomb I have found myself in. I remove the clothes and dress myself in layers. I warm myself enough to stop shaking and I find myself fatigued from my shivers.

“Get changed and meet me on the rink, let's have a warm up before the coach gets here.” The moment I stepped on the ice, the familiar feeling hit me. I pushed forward, my skates kissing the ice as I moved around to explore. This rink was new, since the old one was abandoned due to faulty buildings.
