Her lips are a bit pale though, and her intoxicating blue eyes are swollen and red from crying. As if summoned by my staring, Chloe's gaze meets mine, and it's like I'm being pulled into a whirlpool. How come she still holds this much power over me? It's fucking ridiculous. I'm not one to be controlled…by anyone.

I clamped my lips shut as I let my hands touch the blue magic scepter, it was very heavy if you ask me, but I ended up lifting it up after three trials. “You are the scepter’s new master” a gentle voice whispered into my ears. I instantly snapped my attention back to the white haired lady. “ who are you?!” Her voice was melodious but I still looked at her warily. What if she has evil intentions? “ Chloe Salvador the chosen one, our savior and our master. All hail!!” At her voice, the scepter released a blue lightening that coerced through the sky as all the little creatures bowed at me.

She stopped, looking at me, then at the empty space next to me. “Who are you talking to?” Chloe asked, her brow furrowing. “Her,” I said, pointing to Jess. I turned back, but the space was empty. Jess was gone. There wasn't even the sound of a door closing. “There’s no one there, Maya,” Chloe said, rolling her eyes. “Mind your business,” I snapped back. “Whatever, weirdo,” Chloe whispered as she brushed past me to enter a cubicle. I looked at her in the mirror before she disappeared. Her perfect blonde hair, her clear skin, she never had to wear thick glasses or hide behind layers of concealer. She was everything I wasn't.

Ready. I stepped out of my room and stopped dead in my tracks. *Holy fuck.* Chloe was coming down the hallway toward me. That dress… Jesus Christ. It was a killer. Deep color that made her skin glow, a dangerous slit running high up one thigh, and a neckline that showed just enough cleavage to make a man lose his mind. Her blonde hair was styled in soft curls that bounced with every step. Her makeup was perfect — bold lips, smoky eyes that made her brown eyes pop even more. Her body in that dress was sinful.

The delicate straps gracefully adorned her shoulder, leaving a tantalizing glimpse of her back. She slipped into a pair of nude heels, elongating her legs and adding an extra touch of elegance to her ensemble.
