The Chosen One

The Chosen One

Also referred to as the Demon's book, it was a massive tome, written thirty years ago by a priest who was said to have made a deal with the Devil to finish it. According to legend, the priest had been sentenced to be walled-up alive as punishment for breaking his vows. He promised the church that if they let him live, he would write a book that would contain all human knowledge - in a single day. To fulfill this promise, the priest sold his soul to the demon. The manuscript was extremely long, it appears to have been written by just one person over a relatively short period and covered a spell that only the supernatural could only open the book. Created using more than one sixty animal skins

The Chosen One

The Chosen One

Suddenly, Alex found himself in a dark room. He felt trapped because he had no clue where he was, how he got there, or where to head towards to leave the darkness. Still wondering all these, he saw a dim of light from afar, but the dim got brighter later on making it seem like it emanated from his front initially. He heard a voice echoes,"your people await you" several times, while still blinking his eyes from the glittering light which took him abacked because he didn't noticed that someone accompanied the light.

It also made sense why they named themselves after the book, it was what brought them into the realisation of a potential threat. Mum went further to say that the book had powers beyond what the mind could understand, and she mentioned that with the book one could skip the necessary balance. “What do you mean by the necessary balance?” I inquired, barely holding my excitement as she told it all to me. “The necessary balance, um, how will I explain this?” She clicked her tongue severally. “It is a simple term that means magic had a price, it always had a price.” Squinting my eyebrows, I said, “Always had a price? What is the price, how much? How do we quantify the….”

I bit my lips and blinked a few times before asking, “You’re not saying this because you believe it’s what I want to hear, right?” “I swear on my mother’s grave that I am genuinely curious about what you found out in these books.” I drew a deep breath and nodded, collecting the rest in his hands. “Okay, the first book in the sequence is ‘Finding the One’.” I flipped the pages open, and Aaron once again leaned against his desk, his attention fixed on me. “Young boy Ralph had wanted one thing for the longest time. His mother always told him that finding love was a beautiful thing. It was important to find the one on time, she would always say.”

I'm finally giving a book 5 stars. the reason is that the story is absolutely amazing! it's so captivating, and I literally fall asleep reading it because I don't want to put it down. there are several grammatical errors, but it does not take away from the book. Harvard to stanford? not good though

So far this is one of the best books I’ve read on this app, the writer is so wonderfully involved welcoming ideas and comments. Which in my opinion shows how much she appreciates her readers. The amount of descriptiveness, information and detail really helps you visualize what your reading. Thanx!!

He said. “I have one but it’s already chapter one.” I said hesitantly. “Read it for me, please…” *Cataclysm Chapter 01 I'm walking on the hallway of the school to pay the books I need. Everyone is busy talking to their old friends, some for their newfound friends and what makes me agitated is it seems someone is following me and it seems someone is watching me every corner of the school. It makes me feel uneasy. ---

Zeroed Out

Zeroed Out

"That's how you build a real bond." Between my recovery and round-the-clock feedings, my body was completely hollowed out. The baby cried nonstop, and my hair came out in clumps. For an entire month, I teetered on the edge of a breakdown. Fiona even sent taunting messages. [Tessa, so what if you married Jasper? The one he really loves has always been me.] She had attached a video of the two of them tangled together. The video was filled with his heavy breathing and her soft moans. The sounds were unmistakable.

He mindlinked him, and he nodded, sniffing. "What the fuck is going on here?" A familiar voice asked behind them, making Hashmuk let go of Rasmore. The person standing behind them was the person he was crying for, thinking he had left him. It was Kelvin, with a pile of magic books in his hands. He and his friends smelled like they were coming from the sewer.

I retort harshly, he sighs. "Listen Gabriella, we have nothing against you, honestly. We only do what we do as a test to every newbie and it seems you passed it." He says and I deadpan. "If you don't believe me ask Jack, he's very aware of our culture here. By the way, I'm Fabian," He introduced himself and I couldn't not help but be confused. "You made me drink toilet water, locked me in the office because it's office tradition? How the hell does that make any sense?" I ask, hoping his explanation satisfies my confusion.

PATIENT ZERO -The lone survivor

PATIENT ZERO -The lone survivor

Nyosi stood in the center of the room, her hands clasped neatly behind her back, as Asset Null slowly advanced toward the broken bookshelf. "You broke my leashes tonight, Baraka," Nyosi said, her voice dropping to a cold, final whisper. "But you forgot the golden rule of the military-industrial complex. We always have a bigger gun." Asset Null raised his pale, bone-white hands, the pitch-black voids of his eyes locking onto Patient Zero in the dark. For the first time since the war began, Baraka had no adaptations left to save him.

My Alpha (Book One)

I was so over this crap, I just wanted Charlie back in my arms, it was horrible with her being so far away “You are supposed to be my brother, do you not want to help me?” “It’s not that I don’t want to help, I just think we might be falling into a trap” Kayla comes quickly into the office carrying a large book, she looks flustered as she slams the open book down on the table sending bits of dust everywhere and making me cough. Kayla apologises and asks if we have heard about the one to rule them all. I look at Alexander and he looks just as puzzled as me “What do you mean the one to rule them all?”

Questions fréquentes

I recently stumbled upon 'Zero One' and was blown away by its gripping narrative and futuristic themes. The author is Peter Thiel, a well-known entrepreneur and investor, who co-wrote it with Blake Masters. The book dives deep into the philosophy of startups and innovation, and it’s one of those reads that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page. Thiel’s insights on competition and monopoly are particularly eye-opening, making it a must-read for anyone interested in tech or business. The way he breaks down complex ideas into digestible bits is just brilliant, and I’ve found myself recommending it to friends who are into similar topics.
