Starfang banners, Nightmoor’s dark crescent, Stargazer’s pale sigil. The moonstone at my throat lay cold and cracked, but it still buzzed like something awake underneath. Across the field, the first shapes appeared. “Contact,” Jace said quietly, lifting his binoculars. “East line. And west. Shit. They’re circling.” I squinted. At first it looked like shadows rolling over the ground. Then eyes opened inside the dark. Too many. Zorak’s army stepped into the moonlight. Twisted wolves with patchy fur and glowing veins. Creatures that had once been men, bent wrong, limbs too long, moving like they had forgotten how joints worked. And behind them, shadowy constructs, half-made bodies shaped from m

“Every man down there tonight at dinner is a killer. It’s what they do.” “Not the same,” she said. “The famiglia has honor.” My head tilted. “I’ve never heard you say anything bad against anyone before.” “Jasmine, you’ve been sheltered. There’s a side of life you don’t know about. Horrible things can happen to a young woman like yourself. Monsters lurk behind handsome faces.” But were all monsters bad?

she said. "A witch? Am I a witch mother? Why are you two behaving so strangely? What has happened to you?"I asked looking at their faces. "No. I was trying to get Anu scared, that's all."she lied. "Yes. Your mother compares me to witches."Anu supplemented. "You might be one. How could a normal person turn into a lion."I pointed. "You are right Artie. Am not a human but am not a witch either." "Then what are you?"

I tighten my grip on David and ask, "Your proclamation—what's the big picture? Where do you see this going? I'm curious, Alpha Nicodra. Do you have any specific ideas regarding how exactly you're going to resurrect our culture?" He lifts his glass to me and says, "I'm happy to hear your interest. My ideas are truly rooted in our conformity to a way of life that was simply not built on the beings we are. Frankly, Brigette, we are not human. In all honesty, we're monsters—at least to them, at least in our physiology." "Monsters," I repeat, tasting the word on my tongue.

Lumden said, “is not prophecy.” He opened the book. “It is history.” The pages were old. Older than Wildbourne itself. The first wolves were not Fire or Ice. They were Lycans. Jax’s breath caught. “They came first,” Lumden said. “Created directly by the Moon Goddess. Rulers. Guardians. Too powerful for the world they protected.” Rufus leaned closer. “And uncontrollable.” “Yes,” Lumden replied. “Their power was tempered only by love. Each Lycan was given a single mate for life. Without that bond, they destroyed everything around them. They were creatures of cruelty.”

I looked up and my stomach dropped. Aziel Nightbane. The monster himself. His golden eyes burned down at me with pure hate. Up close he smelled like blood and smoke and something darker that made my wolf stir. “Who are you running from boy?” he growled. His voice was low and rough like gravel under boots. His grip tightened on my arm hard enough to bruise. I gasped for air and forced words out even though my throat felt tight. “Please. I am nothing. Just a slave omega. Let me go and I will disappear. You will never see me again I swear it.”

Their long and thin tongue is stuck out as if they are already craving human flesh. The hole emits miasma nonstop as it stands as the portal to hell. Every moment, other creatures were materialized and given life. Goblins, Golems, Ghouls, Orge, Imps, Lich, Warlocks, you name it! To make everything short, everything related to the corrupted souls of Tartaro. I look at Phelan, and I see no fear on him despite the innumerable foes. Neither anyone in my pack shows fear. Instead, I see their excitement in their hazel orbs.

“That’s appreciated, Elder Harvey.” Harvey beams and turns to me, his excitement barely contained. “You’ll be happy, Luna. The feast will be your formal introduction to the pack. Then, at the Blood Moon Festival, you’ll receive Eliora’s blessing for your union.” His joy rings out like a song. But inside me, a chill takes hold. The Blood Moon Festival. The one Primrose warned me about. The night the Luna goddess weaves her threads. Links true mates. How long does Gerald think he can fool a goddess?

I said, only a little sarcastic. “The only monsters in my house are you and me, and I can’t fit under your bed,” he said in a bland tone. “Har-har.” I mocked him. I didn’t want to think of myself as a monster, even if I was. “The most common in this particular city are Demons, Gargoyles, Vampires, and Witches. Werewolves do roam around here every now and then, but they like more open space for when they shift,” he continued like there had been no banter between us.
