The zombie falls on me and I push it aside. Hurriedly, I got up again, only to find out that I'm surrounded by hungry zombies ready to tear me up, almost twenty of them. I try to grab my rifle, but a zombie already kick it aside while shuffling to me. The zombies flooded around me, though I kill some with my knife, but it's not enough. Soon, the zombies overpowered me, dipping their nails into my body then a rough, tiny zombie lady sink her teeth into my neck. In a matter of seconds, my whole body is covered in blood as they feasted on me, Zombie bite is a mix of extreme pain and irritation.

Well, I can spend almost a whole day in a huge bookstore. Angelo picked a post-apocalyptic book about survival and zombies. I’ve seen him watching a zombie television series last time. Maybe he’s into those kinds of books until now. On the other hand, I picked a cozy high fantasy with a low-stakes book. I’ve read a lot of things about this book on the internet. But ever since we moved to the town, it is not feasible to reach a bookstore. This is the perfect time to read the book along with a drink that we’re going to order.

Maybe she could ask Zoran if she could spend a couple of hours here every day. Walking down the isles, she noticed all kinds of books. Some on witchcraft, others on vampires, elves, unicorns, dragons.. everything she’s ever read a fantasy book about, there was plenty of information on it. Just as she was going back to the first floor to wait on Zoran, she saw it. The werewolf section. She couldn’t control herself. She had already glanced at all the other books but those. Slowly, she made her way over, looking at all the titles and covers. Finally, she found what she was looking for. Reaching up, her fingertips grazed the spine as a hand grabbed her wrist.

I bit my lips, not to laugh out loud. “I know what that is,” curly-boy exclaimed, like a toddler in Jeopardy. “It’s when the words and letters jump around, making it difficult to read and write, right?” “Give the boy a medal,” I grinned. “So if you’re hoping I’m here to help you, you’re wrong! I’ll be sucking on your brain like a leach!” “Zombie,” the girl with the glasses said, patting the seat next to her and motioning me to sit down. “They’re the ones who eat brains.”

But the bombs barely did any damage. Worse, one of the zombies had actually picked up a grenade and thrown it back at them. If its aim had been even slightly better, they would’ve been blown to pieces. At this point, the only reliable way to kill zombies was still destroying their brains. I frowned deeply. Just during the first week of the apocalypse, I was still able to burn large groups of zombies to death by detonating abandoned cars. And yet only a short time later, even explosives were becoming ineffective against them.

Dan gripped a machete in his hand, but it was useless against mutated zombies. Just as one of them lunged forward, about to bite through Dan’s neck, I stood on the second-floor balcony, holding a cup of coffee, calmly looking down at the scene below. “Ruth,” I said lightly, “they’re too loud.” From the shadows behind me, Ruth stepped forward and simply glanced down at the yard. “Boom!” In an instant, the zombies were crushed flat against the ground by the overwhelming force of gravity. The sound of bones shattering rang out, and a moment later, they were all reduced to pulp.

I sighed wishing they would hurry up and let us board. The flight home wasn't bad, the first class section hardly had anyone in it. I read most of the way home to keep my mind off of Seth and on the Zombie apocalypse. I was obsessed with anything Zombie related. This particular book followed a girl who had been separated from her group and was trying to make her way back. It was actually really good and made the flight go by.
