There weren’t birds chirruping, nor insects making sounds, or animals calling out to each other. There was simply no noise. Something else raced behind me in the leaves once more, and I turned sharply. All around, the leaves began to rustle as invisible things shot past them, and no one taught me to run. I ran as fast as I could, and then, I saw them, arising out of the leaves, ground, trees, from everywhere. Just like the video game Lucien had talked about, they looked like Zombies. Only that their skins were a pale white, and some had bones beginning to stick out where their flesh had been decayed. They had no eyes in their sockets, and no teeth in their mouths.

The evolution-fest continued for around two more hours, as the evolutions took some time to end, and after that Chaos wanted to name every single one of these little and measly monsters as well to give them one last boost. Will-o-wisps became Ghosts after the miasma, and after being named each Ghost attained some kind of element, there were Inferno Ghosts that used fire, Storm Ghosts that had wind, Dark Ghosts that could wield darkness, and even the rare Bright Ghost, who could use light! All of them were S-Rank, from measly E-Rank monsters such as Will-o-wisps who can barely hurt a weak orc child, this was a great jump!

During the daytime, people remain preoccupied with their work, distractions, conversations, routines that they don't even notice subtle happenings. However, at night it's different. When everything goes quiet with minimal activities around. Sounds, movements, aromas, etc. can be detected in a much more clear way. Senses become more acute therefore, one can feel the subtle changes in temperature, light, sound, etc. It is also hard for ghosts and spirits to manifest themselves during the daytime. It's always easier for them to interact with the physical plane in either darkness or artificial lights, not the natural sources of lights. That is the reason why activities happen at night only.

As they approached their destination, they were suddenly surrounded by a group of ethereal beings, their faces twisted in anger and pain. ☆☆☆ Inside It was foggy within but they could still see what lies buried within the cemetery, they walked stealthily like ghosts trying effectively not to attract unwanted attentions. The Zompires are dead creatures considered to be undead, their existence is a curse and an abomination of the hidden world itself. They are ludicrous and predictable unlike other creatures on the planet, they're visibly blind but attracted to noises and lights. They could transform others at will with just a bite but that differs between species. It hasn't been really tested on a dhampir but Rapidfire was not ready to try that out yet.

Streams of white light energy hit them and sent them and the bodies they possessed down into the abyss. I moved my hand, aimed at zombies, and sent them to the darkness of the Underworld. A zombie in the form of a naked shifter had cracked the back of a screaming Neratomay Elder, and I shot it, sending the both of them into the abyss. Paul was punching a zombie that had entered the body of a Were-bear, its mouth the size of an alligator. Though Paul knocked the bear off balance, the bear wasn't stunned. I aimed my power at the bear's cavernous mouth seconds before it would have locked onto Paul's face. I returned that abomination to the Underworld.

Suddenly, Adrian realized that these individuals indeed harbored ulterior motives. Adrian expanded his awareness, and the sight before him left him speechless. The entire hall was now teeming with an array of ghosts and monsters. Among them were towering old men with only one eye, lanterns swaying on a single leg, malformed boys with just one limb each, women clad in white exuding a bone-chilling aura, and skeletal figures draped in human skin...
