Once they are destroyed or scattered, the ghost may face utter destruction." Upon hearing this, Samuel carefully tucked the finger bone into his pocket. Then, the curious baby began to explore his questions, “Daddy, where did you just go? Why did your body change like this?" Thorne showed no signs of panic when caught red-handed. Instead, he looked at Samuel with a smile and truthfully confessed, "Daddy just went to the underworld and had a fight with a demon. I almost couldn't make it back, but luckily you saved me."

But the silence made me shuddered more. "We finally finished the sixth base. There were still five markets we need to find." Another voice of a woman said. My heart thumped fast because the five grim reapers choose to stay just beside the tent. "I really need a vacation. Let's finish the job quickly." One man said. "Be thankful that our team is assigned for capturing ghosts and not for cleansing demons. If we fought with a strong demon, even we have hundreds of lifespan, we could be eaten by them." The voice came from the blond man.

I spent the next few days learning the purpose of and how to use the equipment that Nora had purchased in preparation for our taking on the paranormal. I found it both interesting and frustrating. There were gadgets for almost everything one might imagine, such as electromagnetic detectors and thermometers. Apparently, ghosts use electricity to help them manifest and, when they do, the temperature in the room will change even if you can’t see them. Being a skeptic at heart, I found the equipment both interesting and amusing.

It felt heavier than the first. “Midnight,” Leora said, melting back into the graveyard of metal. “Don’t be late. And don’t die before you plug it in. I’d hate for my work to be posthumous.” They were left alone in the rust and the yellow light, holding two thumb drives that contained their salvation and a possible apocalypse. “She’s using us,” Sabe said quietly. “We’re using her,” Anton corrected, gripping the drives tightly. “It’s the only way to fight ghosts. You have to become a ghost yourself, and then you have to turn on the lights.”

The constant barrage of the sentry’s blast kept us all inter until ghost fire raised her hand, curting it up to form a blue and white plasma ball. “Enough,” Ghost fire said as she through the concentrate sphere at the sentries the spere soved through sentrys, vaporizing them both and shutting down the blast. We each slowly pick ourselves up, recovering from the surprise attack. “Nice trick Melissa,” I said “What do you call that?,” “Spook orbs,” ghost fire answered. “I hope you can make more Rick said. “Cause we got company,” Rick pointed at a cluster of Reaper Gorillas, rampaging toward us on all fours.

I left it charging, so they could use it for as long as they wanted, and if what ghost hunters said was true, they could also draw energy from the battery at the same time. Back to the kitchen, I put to cook, wondering what I could watch over dinner. YouTube kept suggesting me a compilation of the best paranormal evidence captured by the infamous Haunters. No matter how many times I tapped the option to not show it anymore, it kept popping up. So after checking there was nothing interesting to watch anywhere else, I decided I could always have a good laugh and sat to have dinner and watch the rockstars scream like little girls. I whispered, my words slipping through the air like a sharp blade. Her face paled, and her hands trembled as the realization washed over her. Samantha, the ghost from our past, a specter we had long thought banished to the depths of forgotten memories.
