They were called the Foundation.
And then, in the pages that followed, she laid out every partial connection she had managed to find. No confirmed names. Fragments. A pack affiliation here, a council connection there, a financial instrument that appeared in three separate cases pointing toward the same neutral zone location without ever resolving into a single identifiable source.
She had been three steps away when she died.
“The neutral zone location,” I said. “She identified a specific property.”
The neutral zone was an unclaimed land between packs, it belonged to no pack or region, but it was mostly occupied by rogues and people who were banished.
