Duncan’s roar shakes the foundation of the concrete room our pack huddles in, his grief ripping through him. It was some of our Hounds that found the bodies this morning, lying there in shreds in the middle of Millennium Park. Our Hounds are just as they sound, pack members that serve as police officers and homicide detectives by day. We all have our place, a way for us to blend in seamlessly. We all hold jobs like anyone else; civil servants, politicians, physicians, CEOs, bakers and students. Unless it’s a full moon, it’s nearly impossible to know we’re anything different than humans.

The hyenas, much like the jackals and the coyotes, always seemed to cause trouble and unrest wherever they went, scavengers and bullies. Parker slid off the stool, his beer in one hand as he tapped the bar with his other. He leaned over the bar, taking in the others, but not taking another seat. "What usually happens to weak men? A woman." Then Parker laughed as he shook his head. "With all the women down there, your little fox fell for a coyote, and coyotes hate humans." He shrugged. "I'm pretty sure she's jerking more than just his chain, if you know what I mean?" He tapped the bar again and walked toward the back of Shades where a couple of others sat around a table sipping beer and laugh

It seemed like years of being raised by rogues didn’t let me know what seemed to be common knowledge that shocked nobody but me. “Yes. I wouldn’t recommend it, though. It’s dangerous. Humans don’t like things they don’t understand, and the last thing they would understand are people who look like them but can change into animals at will. They have people who hunt people like us out here in the forests.” I raised brows at him, showing how interested I was in hearing more of it.

I mean is it really that much for poor people or is it something else. "Well our dad never saw any interest in it. He always said that the biggest zoo is life because at this point many human beings behave worse than animals so why pay to go and visit some gentle ones when you interact everyday with the same creatures, just in a modified structure." Animals? if I had a son like Alex I'd also consider human beings as animals. We kept on watching the animals. Zack bought some food so that we could feed them, while some of them had us captivated by their color, the little sketches they were trained to do or just their magnificent nature.

Brielle's POV I listened to the cheers of everyone's approval of mr and my heart swelled with happiness. With their voices, my worries and fears were dispelled. I am the Luna of the Blue Moon pack. That is such a great responsibly that even I am not sure I will do well but I will not let that deter me. They have accepted so I will do my best to live up to their expectations. I will try my best to be the best Luna I can be, even we a human.

He gestured for me to move closer, and I obeyed. “Weave through the cones. Let’s test your balance. Don’t knock any over.” He commanded, and I realized he probably didn’t want to continue the human discussion either. But I had one more question. “Humans… I heard somewhere they’re allowed in other packs. So why aren’t they allowed in Raven Pack?” I asked, tying my hair. Rex blew the whistle , It was time to start. “I’ll tell you… if you make it through without knocking any of the cones.”

My ribs throbbed as I turned my back on the door and let the tears fall. Claire, I could hear my wolf but I ignored her I don't have the energy to deal with her and her excuses. Just leave me alone Mia I said sadly I just want silence today. I laud there wiping my face as more tears fell. Everything in my life has been shit since I got told humans can't be in packs. Humans have no place and if our mates found out we would be rejected for it. Josh and Lucas had doubts about us and fear but I wanted my mate.

“I guess. But they didn’t just, I mean, Mom gets sick with hay fever, and she doesn’t look like that.” “Like what?” Zane asked. I wouldn’t have pressed it, myself, but I think he was doing something about a big alpha to little alpha that I wasn’t really a part of, and I was going to respect it. “Like,” Jordan said, and then was quiet for a minute. “Like they needed help.” Zane nodded and shot Jordan a look of approval. Jordan sat up straighter in his seat. “Yes, they were wolves and humans, and they needed our help. They weren’t being treated properly. They were being mistreated. Do you understand?”

They are weak. "Akim, what if our pups get a human mate," Zoya whispers as the reality of the situation finally gets through her thick warrior skull. "Even if a human manages to live a long healthy life they still die so quickly," Akim whispers and I nod. I can see the shift in both of them. They are viewing more ad an equal than a demented murderer.

She smacked her lips, her eyes curving into crescent moons, both innocent and enchanting. Aaron’s eyes darkened, staring fixedly at her. “Zoe Thorne!” Aaron’s voice was devoid of emotion, yet it sent a chill down one’s spine: “Do you know the biggest difference between humans and animals?” Zoe didn’t reply, just watched him in silence. “Humans understand decency, they know where to stop. Once you’re done eating, you know how to go home. I’m not your chauffeur.” Aaron tossed a large bill onto the table, not sparing her another glance, and decisively turned to leave the diner.
