James POV ——————- I let Blade to the surface to keep the others in control. He gave away a growl making all wolves crawl back into their humans except for Stella, my sisters' wolf, Amber was an alphas daughter and her wolf was stronger than the others. Blade let out a warning growl making even Stella stand down, not to Ambers liking, however.

Rollo and Zander could hear the sound of the poor bastard's ribs cracking. Cleo and Izzy were busy fighting off some men who tried to attack them. It was odd. The men had silver blades, and they seemed to be well-trained in Martial Arts. One of the guys had on an eye patch and a leather jacket on, he smelt of cigarettes and stale liquor. He grabbed Izzy by the hair, her bun came undone, and he threw her across the floor. Her head hit into a few tables as she slid across the floor. "FUCK, what have you girls gotten yourselves into?" Zander smouldered at Hazel. He took his jacket off. "Timothy, take her to the car." He turned and wrapped the jacket around his mate.

Tangerine demanded, on guard. The man held up his hands in a peaceful gesture. "My name is Blade. I'm a hunter, but I'm not here to fight you. I'm here to help." Tangerine eyed him warily. "Why should I trust you?" Blade sighed. "I know you don't trust hunters, but I'm not like the others. I've been tracking the rogue vampires, and I know that they're planning something big. Something that could destroy everything." Tangerine frowned. "What do you mean?"

Only the sudden weight of steel sliding through flesh and bone, exactly where the mark burned brightest. The Luna mark broke as the blade pierced it. It was not a sound anyone could hear, but something you felt through the bond—like ice cracking beneath unbearable pressure. Kaelor’s pain tore through me so violently I almost missed my own. His shout spread across the battlefield, raw and broken, and every wolf collapsed where they stood. The light around my body shattered. The power drained from me, sinking into the earth, into the sky, into nothing. I looked down. The blade had gone straight through the mark.

But the excitement on his face and his voice told me like this was the first time he found out we were having a girl. “Can you believe we have a girl?” He asked me. His lips were smiling, and so were his eyes. “We got a girl!” I acknowledged him, sharing his enthusiasm. Like always, Blade has been supported. Instead of dwelling on the reality that our child was mated to Alastor, he didn’t even argue or become obsessed with it. He just took it, and for some reason, he believed Alastor would not bother us until it was time to claim her.

Blade let out a sigh of relief and came to my side, starting to inspect me. "Are you feeling okay? Is it hurting anywhere?" He asked as he lightly touched my head. I gave him a small nod, clearing my throat before replying. "I'm okay...just that my head hurts a little..." I murmur. Blade let out another sigh of relief as Caspian looked at us with disdain, glaring at me particularly. "Don't worry, you'll be okay soon." Blade reassured me as he gently moved his hand over my wound, the pain immediately vanishing under his quietly spoken spell.

Rowan shifted fully, lunging at the nearest Hunter. The creature caught him mid-air— BY THE THROAT. I screamed. “ROWAN!” Zander sprinted forward, blade igniting with elemental steel. He swung— The blade passed THROUGH the Hunter. Like slicing smoke. Zander stumbled backward, eyes wide. “What the—” The Hunter backhanded him so hard he flew into the snow, crashing into a boulder. “ZANDER!” He groaned, dazed. Elle thrust her staff down, runes exploding in bright blue.

A swift kick disarmed the man, and Kane's blade—a silver-edged knife he'd pulled from his boot—ended the fight with a single, efficient strike. From the opposite side of the clearing came a sharp, ear-piercing howl. Gunnar, Xander's hulking cousin, had taken down a hunter armed with a semi-automatic rifle. His wolf form was massive, his fur almost black with streaks of deep auburn. He growled low and deep, standing over the fallen man as his jaws dripped with blood. Gunnar's presence alone seemed to unnerve the remaining hunters, who faltered in their attacks, their formation breaking as panic set in.
