The Silverwolf
Across the fire, watching with intent, was the Lykaon.
I sprang up, growling, and pushed Skye behind me.
“Hey!” He cried, toppling in a backward somersault.
The Lykaon whined and dropped onto its stomach, tail tucked between its legs. The action reminded me of the watcher in the forest. Were they one and the same?
“Hey, Kendra, it's okay.” Skye climbed to his feet behind me and rested a hand on my side. “He's not going to hurt us.”
