I’m going to shift and you can hop on,” Skye pointed to his back and I suddenly felt nervous. “Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall. It’ll be a quick ride, less than ten minutes, with my speed.” He said, followed by a playful wink. I let out a deep breath before nodding my head. “Okay. Let’s do this.” Just like Skye said, time flew by so much faster. Honestly, if it were me, I wouldn’t have minded a few more minutes being on his wolf, Blu.

"Who's kicking Skye out of the company?!" I froze, stunned for a moment. 'Old Mr. Fraser?!'

I told Skye that the next step should be asking Marco to move a finger if he could really hear. Skye was clapping her hands in great joy as it seemed like Marco indeed could hear and understand everything that he hears from his surroundings. Skye’s happiness was so contagious. She was seven jumping on her spot as she sprang up from her seat in great surprise. Just to sat back down again, but her feet were restless as well.

Little Osiris is huddled in his mother's arms, trying to hide his little face from the angry mob threatening to kill them. "I tell you what," the Alpha finally smirks. "I will give you a head start." Skye doesn't need to be told twice. She takes off, running toward the forest. As she runs, her body morphs and shifts. I try to keep up with her, but she is too fast. The last I see is a golden lycan running away from the mob. Osiris's little face is peering over her shoulder, watching his home fade into the distance.

I clenched my fists, my wolf stirring inside me. I turned back to Skye, "It seems we have to postpone our conversation, there's something that requires my immediate attention." Her gaze flickered with concern as she looked at me, "What's happening?" I shrugged, "Trouble, most likely." I didn't want to tell her it was Jayleen. Not yet, not until I was sure of her loyalty. She nodded, her brows furrowed. As I turned to leave, I felt a strange sensation. I looked back to see Skye staring at the painting. She was more than her mother's daughter; she was a witch and she had powers. Powers that could help us.

Hakan warned as he stopped right next to Skye who has her eyes focused solely on the first claw machine that got her interest. “Despite how short I am compared to you, I am an adult and can handle myself. If I do ever get lost, I can ask around. So, please, for the love of god, don’t smother me,” she mumbled at him. If it wasn’t for the Alpha’s enhanced hearing and their proximity he might have never heard what she had said. “I’ve already had enough of people smothering me.” She added but this time a faint whisper. “All right then. Go ahead and have fun. Just don’t go to any rides yet.” Skye just ignored the Alpha as she continued on playing on the claw machine, intending to win and take hom

But then I notice Skye tentatively approaching Posey, her eyes shining a brighter violet than they normally do. Posey watches her like she’s being stalked by something threatening, and for a moment, I wonder if I should intervene, to rein the powerful little girl in by calling out her name and mentioning that her great-grandfather is willing to make her another complicated pancake, possibly in the shape of the elusive Solstice Wolf, which would undoubtedly chap Isaac’s ass, but then Skye reaches out and runs her fingers over the leather satchel draped over Posey’s shoulder. “Do you want to see it?” Posey asks, her forest-green eyes taking in Skye’s dark hair and high cheekbones. “Oops!” James immediately put his arms around my waist holding me in place. “Hey, gotcha.” We heard a deep male voice. “Let go of her.” I looked over James’ shoulder to see Alpha Gale, standing a couple steps behind us. James picked me from the ladder and dropped me on the ground gently before turning to look at the alpha wolf standing before us. James’ face hardened but he didn’t say a word to him. “Skye. You’re coming with me,” Gale said.

Gods. A pair of gryphons soar overhead, their bondeds laughing as they dive through the clouds. Direwolves and their humans moving in perfect sychronizon. One particulary unimpressed frost lynx lounges across a tree branch, glaring down at everyone beneath it like they are personally offending its existence. Further in the distance, Ironclad dragons train with their bondeds, bronze scales glimmering beneath the rising sun. Terrifying, but majestic. For a few silent moments, I simply watch. Because despite all else, I still love them. I always have, even though Aetherion Academy was not supposed to be my future.
