MIA

My head was hammering when I opened my eyes, bright lights blinding me. I turned to see what was going on, and saw the IV drip-tube on the hanger.

“Hey. You’re awake.”

For the first time I turned hastily to realize that someone was in the room. It was a female doctor who looked a little older than I was.

“How do you feel?” she asked, a smile on her face.

I shut my eyes, trying to remember what happened—and it all came back. Jumping off the car. The running. Headlights blinding me. Being knocked off by the vehicle.

I opened my eyes. “Where am I?”

“This is the Moonshade Clinic. Lord Dilan brought you here.” Her smile widened as she said his name, like his title alone lifted her mood.

I wondered where he was… then stopped myself. I remembered I was going away before all of this happened. I remembered Caleb.

Every part of my body ached. Still, I knew I needed to get out of here—to go somewhere the two brothers and my whole pack would never find me.

“I need to leave…” I started to stan

  • HOW TO KILL THE OMEGA LUNA   Chapter 30

MIADilan’s kiss had taken me by surprise. It was so sudden, so quick. For a few moments, I found myself kissing him back, intently and carefully. His lips were soft and warm against mine, but it was nothing like what I was used to. It carried none of Khalid’s spark; it didn't even make me feel remotely close to it.What am I doing?I suddenly pulled away, pushing Dilan a little. I watched his face. He smirked slightly, then wiped his lips with the back of his hand.Disgust coiled in my stomach. Khalid had rejected me and made it clear he didn’t want me, but why would I ever want to kiss his very brother? My body trembled. My gaze snapped back to the table, and all the food suddenly appeared stale. My hunger vanished.I pushed my chair back and stood up, walking away. But Dilan blurred in front of me, blocking my path. “Go back and eat.”“I don’t want to. Just leave me alone!” I said, trying to push him away. Dilan didn’t budge. He suddenly grabbed both my hands, holding them up in th

NORAThough the tears in my eyes had finally stopped, a crushing heaviness lingered in my chest. I knew I shouldn’t be here with him. But I just couldn’t move. I could not leave him alone in this condition—especially since he had gotten beaten because he wanted to protect me.Levi lay on a bed in one of the palace rooms. His body was bruised and swollen, and I felt every pang of his suffering deep within me. Maybe it was because of the mate bond, or because of my guilt. But I felt his pain like I was the person that was beaten. It was the other guards who had carried him here after Khalid had finished. I remembered the mix of surprise and anger on their faces as they asked what happened. They demanded the reason Lord Khalid had beaten their leader—but I couldn’t give it to them. I couldn't even explain who I was to him, or why I had been with him—because he hadn’t given me permission to tell anybody yet.The healer who had tended to him walked back into the room. It was a woman twice

MIA “…So if you’re still thinking about running back to him, like in those stupid love stories, with the intention of asking why, then I feel more sorry for you than I feel for him.” Dilan’s words hit me hard, like a hot rod grazing my skin. I looked at his face and saw the sincerity in them. Levi’s words played in my head—“Dilan doesn’t hate his brother as much as it seems.” A part of me had believed him. But now I don't.I heard footsteps behind us. I turned to see two maids carrying trays. They wore brown uniforms, which briefly reminded me of the walls in the room I woke up in. Their expressions were calm and unwavering, a stark contrast to how my own face must be.“Serve them in the dining room. I’m not eating here today.”They nodded and bowed before walking over to the dining section at the end of the room. I watched as they placed the food on the table and stepped back.Apparently, Dilan always ate alone and never used the dining room or table. But he was going to start usin

KHALIDI parked my car outside my house and turned off the ignition. Lady Velvet came out immediately, a surprised expression on her face. She hadn't expected me back anytime soon.Somebody else was with her, a lady I recognized as her daughter because she'd come to visit a few times. Her mouth opened when she saw me, and she muttered something to her mother.“Welcome back, son,” Lady Velvet said, approaching me with curiosity. “Is something wrong? Why are you back so soon?”“I came to get something,” I grumbled under my breath and walked inside. Her daughter bowed and said, “Greetings, Lord Khalid. It’s been quite long.”I stopped for a moment to stare at her, noticing the welcoming smile in her eyes. The desire her tone held was irking at my skin. She was pretty and thin with black hair—shorter and lighter than Mia’s. I groaned as I thought of her again, and entered the house without answering her greeting.I went straight into my room and pushed the door open. The room was well arr

Mia woke to the sound of music, blinking as she yawned. Her hands felt sore and painful as she rubbed her eyes. Getting up from the plush, velvet-covered bed, she looked around the room she was in and suddenly jumped. The room was large and well-arranged, with walls painted a soft, creamy white. Rugs in pastel hues covered the floor, adding warmth and texture. A delicate chandelier hung from the ceiling, casting a gentle glow. The furniture was elegant and feminine, with detailed carvings and curved lines. Brown curtains filtered the sunlight, creating a serene atmosphere. Every detail seemed designed for comfort and relaxation. A sudden chill seeped into her bones. Remembering she had been in Dilan’s car, Mia wondered how she had fallen asleep. She walked slowly toward the door, breathing in the lavender fragrance. Her fingers brushed the cool metal of the handle, and the memory slammed into her: Dilan's words about coming to the human world. This must be it. She must have fal

NORAIt was evening, and I was standing at the back of the packhouse, under a tree. I continuously looked around to make sure no one was coming. Getting here hadn't been easy, as there were guards everywhere.Levi had told me to wait for him. I smiled as I thought about him. I had known he was my mate four days ago, and I had been so happy and fulfilled. Four other maids and I had gone to the home garden, where the guards were gathered, to serve them food. All the other guards were seated on chairs and on the ground, but he had been standing, looking around with a hollowed expression on his face. When we served the food, the other guards started pulling the maids over and touching them inappropriately. He hadn't moved an inch. He was simply staring in one direction, until one of the guards came for me and I screamed. He turned instantly and drew out his sword. The guard raised his hand and stepped back immediately. Then my wolf said those magic words: Mate.He took me away as the oth
