Christopher and I were walking hand in hand in the middle of the night. It was the only time we could be together without anyone finding out. Our relationship had to stay a secret, since he was the Crown Prince and the future Alpha, and I was just an Omega, and his royal family would never accept someone like me for their son.
Our fingers were tightly wrapped together, and our steps were quiet along the dimly lit road.
“I missed you,” Christopher said softly, and I smiled, my heart fluttering.
“I think I missed you more, Chris,” I whispered back.
He chuckled and gently played with my fingers as we walked.
After a while, he let out a deep sigh. “I can’t believe I’m turning twenty in barely an hour.”
“I know, right?” I replied with a dreamy smile. “We’ve grown up so much together, year after year. I can’t wait to celebrate with you.”
He hesitated. “I’m not sure I want a birthday party.”
I blinked in surprise and lightly smacked his arm. “What do you mean you’re not sure? You already sent invitations to high-ranking officials.”
“I know, but…”
“No buts, Chris,” I said firmly. “You’re going to be the Alpha of Silverclaw soon. You need to get used to this kind of thing.”
He scrunched his nose. “Nah, I’d rather stay in my manor, with my pretty woman.”
That made me grin like an idiot. I loved it when he called me that…his pretty woman. It made me feel like I belonged somewhere, like I belonged to him.
“Still,” I said, trying to stay serious even though my heart was doing flips.
“Can we not talk about it?” he whispered, gently pulling me closer. “Right now, I just want to hold you, and kiss those lips of yours.”
I giggled and pretended to scold him. “Have some manners, hmm?” I teased, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“With you? Never,” he said with a grin, then leaned in and kissed me.

The next morning, all I could think about was Christopher’s birthday. We had spent some time together earlier, then I returned home to rest before the party would start in the afternoon.
No one else knew, but I was the one working behind the scenes to make everything perfect. I came up with the theme, the decorations, the menu and every little detail. Christopher had simply presented the plans to his parents like the ideas were his. They loved everything, not realizing I was the one who made it all happen.
As the party hour got closer, I started getting ready. I slipped into a red silk gown that hugged my body in all the right places and clipped a rose gold necklace around my neck. Omega or not, I knew how to dress. Fashion was something I would never compromise on.
“Mum, can you drop me off at Prince Chris’s birthday party?” I asked as she was gathering her things to go out with her friends.
“Were you invited?” she asked sharply, giving me that look…the one that warned me not to embarrass the family.
“Yes! Look,” I said, waving the invitation proudly in front of her face.
She finally agreed and dropped me off outside Christopher’s grand home before driving away.
I had no plans to go through the main entrance. Instead, I headed toward one of the side doors, like I always did. I wanted to sneak into his room first, check how he looked, and help calm him down if he was feeling nervous about the crowd.
But when I got to his room, he wasn’t there.
I stepped back into the hallway, confused, and just then, a house staff walked by. I quickly acted like a lost guest and asked, “Excuse me, where is Prince Chris?”
“He’s already at the banquet,” she replied without much interest.
That threw me off. I asked her for the time, thinking maybe I was late, because Christopher usually waited for me. He knew I liked to sneak in to see him before everything started. Without wasting another second, I rushed toward the banquet hall.
The place was already filled with guests, all dressed in stunning gowns and expensive suits. For a moment, I just stood there, taking it all in. The decorations looked exactly how I imagined when I first shared my ideas with Christopher. It was beautiful. Perfect.
Then my eyes began searching the room for him.
I saw him across the hall, surrounded by guests offering birthday wishes. I started walking toward him, not really thinking, just drawn to him. But just before I reached him, I saw a woman in a black dress, about my age, stepping up to him with a glowing smile. She looked too comfortable, like she knew him well, like they had a past. She moved close to him, as if they were lovers.
Then he stood up, pulled her into a tight hug, and smiled at her in a way that made my stomach twist both in jealousy and pain.
The hug might have been okay, something I could have ignored if I tried, but then he gently lifted her chin and kissed her. It wasn’t a quick or friendly kiss. It was slow, deep, and full of passion, like they were the only people in the room. The crowd clapped and gasped, clearly surprised, but no one was more shocked than me.
I stood frozen in my spot, unable to move. My face felt stiff, and my chest burned, but not just from anger, but from heartbreak. My heart felt like it was breaking, piece by piece, as they kept kissing. It probably lasted only a minute, but to me, it felt like forever. That one moment was enough to leave a scar I knew would never fade.
“Chris!” I called out, my voice shaking as I tried to pull myself together but it was not working.
They pulled apart and turned to look at me. I walked toward them slowly. Each step felt heavier than the last, and my heart kept pounding hard in my chest. I stared at him, waiting for an explanation. I wanted him to say it was all a mistake or that he didn’t mean it.
But instead, he looked at me with a blank stare which showed no guilt, then he raised an eyebrow and said, “What?”
My heart sank.
“Christopher!” I called again, louder this time. I kept hoping he was playing a prank, that he would laugh and tell me it was all a joke. “What do you mean by ‘what’? It’s me, Isabella, the love of your life.”
He looked right at me, and all I could see in the eyes he once used to look at me with love and affection were now burning in disgust and hate, without a hint of care in them.
“Let’s stop pretending. You can't seriously believe I’d marry you, did you, Isabella?” Christopher said in a sharp cold tone. “You’re not that delusional, are you?”
His words hit me like a slap, while my mind was spinning.
“W-What? What do you mean?” I asked in a shaky voice. “We’ve been together for so long, and just last night you told me I was your woman. You said I was the one. And now… now I’m standing here, having to explain myself to you? Chris, are you serious right now?”
He looked at me in disgust. “Believe it or not, no one, especially me, would ever marry someone weak and low-ranked like you. You’re just an Omega, Isabella,” he said, brushing me off without a second thought.
The cameras around us kept flashing, capturing everything. I could feel the eyes of the crowd burning into me, and the shame crawling up my skin. We had kept our relationship a secret, but I never imagined he’d treat me like this in front of everyone.
“Did you really think an Omega like you could ever be my Luna?” he added with a cruel smirk.
The crowd laughed, and my heart shattered the more at his stabbing words, each one sharper than the last. I could barely breathe, it felt like I was choking.
“What is going on here?” a sharp voice cut through the noise. Tuning my head to the voice, it was the old Luna, Christopher's mother, who suddenly directed her eyes at me. Scanning me up and down like I was some filthy, disgusting thing.
“If this girl is causing a scene, get rid of her now,” she snapped with a hiss.
Before I could even react, Christopher gave a look, and two large guards appeared and grabbed me roughly by the arms, and began dragging me away.
I didn’t fight. I couldn’t, because I was just too numb, and too broken to even struggle with them, after the man I loved had just thrown me away like I never mattered.
Isabella’s POVThe struggle at the door continued. No matter how much they argued or tried to convince him, the guard still refused to let Chris’s mother and the other woman in.“What exactly did you do?” Tracy asked, bending slightly since there was no seat for her. The only empty chair belonged to Lucian, and she obviously could not sit there.“I didn’t do anything,” I replied with a shrug. “I just told the guards not to let them in.”Thank God I had eaten earlier. Well, more like drank some soup. I was grateful that Agar made me drink it, or else my stomach would have been growling like crazy.“That’s tough. You’re already showing your power,” Tracy said.I nodded. Now I understood why people fought so hard for power. It felt good. It felt amazing to be able to put people who looked down on you in their place. Especially Chris and his family.I know it sounds like I’m obsessed with getting revenge on Chris, but I’m not. I’m just paying him back for everything he did to me. And if h
Isabella’s POVEven though we left the penthouse late, we still arrived early.I wasn’t afraid anymore. I didn’t care what would happen in this meeting. The only thing I felt now was anger. Anger at Chris, and at whoever had stormed into my mother’s house to threaten me. This wasn’t over. I would find out who was behind it, even if I had to do it all by myself. As I walked inside, my mind drifted to the first time I came here with Lucian. I remembered how Chris tried to convince me I was making a mistake by marrying Lucian. I remembered how desperate he was to hold onto what he believed was his. It had been pathetic.“If it isn’t the new Luna,” a woman with a large head tie said as she walked up to me, pulling me out of my thoughts.I turned to her. She looked familiar, but I couldn’t place her no matter how hard I tried.“Hi,” I replied. She frowned at me, clearly unimpressed. Then another woman beside her spoke up.“Such poor manners.”I rolled my eyes. What was I supposed to say to
Isabella povI was reminded by Agar about the meeting I had to attend on behalf of Lucian that morning, I had completely forgotten and had gotten myself wasted after Chris was humiliated at the party and I didn’t even have to do much to get him that humiliation.I squinted my eyes against the brightness in the room as I tried to remember all the details from yesterday night. I remember Chris complaining about how I didnt sent him an invite, I also remember him trying to kiss me and saying I was only acting tough because I still loved him.“Ugh” I groaned holding my head as pain radiates through, I sat up from the bed and covered my face with my hand preventing the sunlight from entering my eyes cause it was hurting.I spent some time sitting down on the bed trying to recollect everything that happen, I could not tell apart the ones that actually happened but either ways I would wait until I see Jane to ask her but right now I needed to get ready for the meeting.I was ready to go so I
Lucian povSince I went down to heltons company I haven't seen him or the documents and I had a hunch he was planning something, either he was going to refuse me or he was going to trick me but whatever it was I was smarter and two can always play the game.Today I had nothing to do except go through old documents and pay my employees, I would have done this all the way from home but I wanted to be present at the office for a reason unknown to me."Send this one out as well" I said adding more files to the one I've already piled up for Jeffrey."This one needs to be faxed over to Sheraton, they don't have a copy of this document I think we should fax the original to them" Jeffery said showing me the Sheraton document.I bought half the shares in the company and kept the record of the deal, he was right for us to send it over to them but then it was wiser for us to keep the original copy of the deed."Make photocopies and mail it to them" I said and immediately he understood why, anoth
Isabella povI rushed outside the room to go tell Agar about the text I got from Lucian, that was definitely a go ahead message right? Cause I mean who drinks where there's no party?Excitement filled my soul as I walked even faster towards the first place I thought of Agar being, I learnt two things this morning, number one, it looked like Lucian wasn't a total asshole and number two, emotional blackmail definitely works."Hey, what's up?" Jane asked when I bumped into her on my way to Agar."The party is on" I said trying not to scream, I was overly excited that I got my way."Great, cause I already started taking out some snacks from the freezer""And Agar didn't have your head?" I asked quite shocked because Agar never let me go near anything, I can't even get my own cup of water. "Nope, I haven't even seen him, I put the music on by myself if that's okay" "Sure, you go ahead and do what you want to do I wanna go search for Agar" I said and resumed walking, she was saying someth
Isabella povI knew he obviously wouldn't let me have the party, thankfully I haven't really invited anybody."I'm sorry, I told you from the start that he wouldn't agree to you having a party here" Agar said and I sighed placing my hand on my hips, I was not even surprised."It's fine, it's a good thing you didn't let me send out the invitation" I said feeling thankful that Agar had talked me out of it even though I was really looking forward to doing something to hurt Chris and Clara."So what are you going to do now?" He asked and I smiled, it was very obvious now that Agar was changing towards me, he wasn't so laid back like he used to be and he talked more with me, I liked it, I felt less lonely."Nothing, is this how boring bring a Luna is?" I asked moving towards the sitting room where the music coming from the speakers were on full blast.I turned it off and took a seat and as usual Agar didn't sit, he just stood by the side with his hands behind his back as we continued with o
