🦋 BENITA 🦋

I have never been more stunned in my life. For the first time in forever, Felix stood up to his grandmother, an eye for an eye. With the look on her face and the bombastic side eye she gave me, I was aware she was going to make me pay for it.

She gave me a face that said, “This is all your fault you bitch.”

Felix stepped in front of me, cutting the threatening glances the chairwoman gave me.

“I have always done whatever you asked of me, hoping you would one day recognise and accept me as your grandson. I let you turn me into the perfect CEO you think I should be, because I felt I owed that to you,” Felix voiced. “You would never accept me as a son, so now I'll stop trying to gain your approval and do whatever I choose to.”

“I now have something I don't wanna lose, and she's standing right there,” Felix added, gawking at me.

The chairwoman's face reddened with rage as Felix stood firm, refusing to back down. "How dare you disobey me!" She thundered, her voice echoing throug

🦋 FELIX 🦋“Would you date me?” That question rang twice in my headI widened my eyes in shock as I stared at the strange but beautiful lady in front of me.“Your face is red,” she pointed out. “Are you perhaps… blushing?”“This is a job interview,” I scolded. “How can you blow out a proposal just like that? You think this job is a joke?”“You said you wanted to trust me, you need to know me to trust me,” she explained. “I know how to keep secrets, and I'm sure I'm probably the only one who will protect you with my life.”“You think because we met once, we are automatically close, and you can say whatever you want?” I snapped.“We met more than once, we met a long time ago, and we were really very close,” she stated softly.“I don't remember this face,” I pointed out. “I don't think I've ever met you before in my life.”She looked at me warmly, “What about my heart? My character? My voice… doesn't it remind you of someone?” She whispered. “Can't you feel my sincerity? If I really wan

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I didn't sleep all night, but I was at least happy that I got to meet Felix again; to me, there's no better achievement than that. The time was 5 am, so I jumped up to prepare for my first day at work. Going to work late on your first day at work leaves a very bad first impression.Nikita had moved in with me yesterday, but I was too occupied to actually have a responsible conversation with her. I just kept on rumbling about Felix, and she was too tired to listen, so she slept off.Suddenly, she stormed into my room and I held my chest in panic, “You scared me!”“I thought you would already be awake,” she blurted out. “You were telling me something yesterday, how did it go? Did you meet him?”I pouted as I remembered what happened: “He kicked me out.”Nikita’s face reddened as she tried to hold in her laugh.Dissatisfied with her reaction, I pushed her out of my room. “Get out, I need to get ready for work.”“Wait, wait, wait,” she pleaded, and I paused. “See,

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋Five years felt like a million years to me, waiting for someone I love. The more I observed, the more time seemed to crawl. The only reason I was still in my right senses was because of Nikita, the big sister who crawled out of nowhere.I lay face flat on the couch, struggling to breathe but I didn't care until Nikita kicked my butt angrily.“Would you stop that?” She growled. “Please don't die on my couch.”“I mean… why isn't he coming back?” I snapped, “I can't go to him either, I really am losing my mind.”Nikita shook her head pitifully, “Who are you talking about now?”“Who else?” I retorted. She rolled her eyes, “You should have told him eye to eye when y'all met that you are his dead wife, who knows, he might not have left. You stalked the innocent man until he ran away.”“So you knew who I was talking about? And I wasn't stalking,” I corrected. “I was observing.”“Isn't that cute?” She said and scuffed. “Lucky he didn't sue you, because if he did, you'd

  • YOU WILL NEVER BE MY GOD, FELIX.   CHAPTER 41 — THE BIRTH OF A NEW ME.

🦋 BENITA CELESTINE 🦋 I stood spellbound in front of the mirror, my gaze unable to tear itself away from the reflection staring back at me. My eyes seemed to gleam with an otherworldly light, my skin radiant with a divine glow. Every feature seemed sculpted to perfection, as if the gods themselves had crafted my face with detailed care. My hair rolled down my back like a waterfall of gold, and my lips curved into a smile that seemed almost divine. I couldn't help but feel like I was gazing at a work of art, a masterpiece that stood up to human explanation. The more I looked, the more mesmerised I became, unable to comprehend how such beauty could exist in one person. It was as if I had stepped out of the mortal realm and into a realm of perfection, where flaws didn't exist and every aspect of my being was a testament to loveliness. Time lost all meaning as I stood there, entranced by my own reflection, unable to look away from the breathtaking vision that stared back at me.“How

  • YOU WILL NEVER BE MY GOD, FELIX.   CHAPTER 40 — LONELINESS IS HUMAN.

🦋 FELIX 🦋I stepped into the mansion for the first time since Benita had gone missing. I turned the light on, but everything in my life seemed dark. The weight of loneliness crushed me, as if I were the only person left in a desolate world. Every step felt like a journey through emptiness, every moment a reminder that the one person who made life worth living was gone. I couldn't shake the feeling that a part of me had been torn away, leaving a gaping hole that could never be filled. In the darkness of my grief, I found myself wishing for the impossible–that Benita would wake up, that her eyes would flutter open, and her smile would light up the world once more. I longed to hear her voice, to feel her touch, to be wrapped in the warmth of her love. The thought of living without Benita was unbearable, and I couldn't help but wonder why fate had taken her from me.I slowly collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down my face, “Benita…” I whispered, hoping against hope that somehow, s

🦋 BENITA 🦋It all unfolded before me, as if I were watching a documentary of my life. Remembering everything made me realise how ugly my life was and how peaceful the last few weeks of my life I remembered nothing was.The promises I made to Felix, the threats I brought to him, my own family and every single horror in my life. I sat down there in silence, I didn't speak or cry, I just stared into the void, wondering where I'd go from there.“What exactly happened during the few weeks I was gone?” I wondered. “Is Felix still waiting for me?”“This was the man I saw in the market earlier,” Nikita announced, pointing at the television screen. “He's Felix Desmond.”My heart skipped a beat as my eyes danced towards the television screen.“Benita James, the ex-wife of Felix Desmond, declared dead,” was written boldly as the headline.“A female's head found by the riverside where Benita James has committed suicide has been proven to be the head of Benita James.
