The pacing feels faster, with more steamy scenes and bigger conflicts (that third-act breakup had me screaming into my pillow). But some fans might miss the subtlety of Book 1’s courting phase. Still, the sequel delivers on promises—like finally revealing the mysterious backstory teased in Chapter 3 of the first book.
