Day 13: Part 3
The scene at the hospital wasn’t less horrific than what was at the scene. When Terrence was called in the middle of his work with the presentation, he ran to the hospital getting ready to take charge. They were lucky that Dr. McGrath was back from his honeymoon, because they really needed him at this moment of crisis.
Usually third years weren’t allowed to lead their surgeries, but seeing the depth of the situation, they agreed to make an exception just for this once. When he found out everyone was being called in for duty, he tried to check in with Kara, according to whom Chance hadn’t arrived. He was standing by the ER waiting for any patient who resembled Chance to come while at the same time hoping he wasn’t one of the casualties. It didn’t help that even after numerous calls Chance didn’t pick up.

31 Days Day 13: Part 4
Both of them woke up around mid afternoon, with them sprawled over each other. Chance was pretty sure his head was pressed into the other’s bare stomach, and probably the cloth covering him was Terrence’s shirt. Since when did he become a messy sleeper. It took the hospital a few more days to go back to its normal routine, where most of the casualties of the disasters were discharged. Only a few who had grave injuries were needed to be kept in the hospital. Terrence woke up in his own bed with a terrible hangover looming over his head. “Good morning.” a sweet and painfully loud voice startled him. “Just to make it clear, we did not have sex last night.” Chance declared.“Why are you here?” Terrence asked, in a whisper.“I made you some hangover soup.” Chance smiled. “How much do you remember?”“I remember being suspended, being kicked off the seminar team. Few moments later, Terrence pulled away, and looked at Chance who looked at Terrence with a puzzled expression. “What was that for?” he asked.“Placebo.” Terrence smirked. For some reason Terrence was not satisfied with one round, and they went around several times causing him to be late at the office. He was literally running in the hallway which could give the false impression that there was an emergency case he needed to attend to and not that he was late. When he reached he received a quick scolding from his seniors before Kara got to him.“What happened to you? Where did you run off last night? No matter what, I couldn't get a hold of you.” She seemed pissed.“Sorry, my phone was out of power.” Chance shrugged.“How? You barely use it here.”“It’s broken. It was early morning when Chance finally had his time off from his shift. He was exhausted from the lack of sleep, possibly delirious, so much so that he was having second thoughts regarding driving. Ultimately he decided to call a cab and went home. Once he reached his apartment, he noticed Terrence was still there passed out in his bed. Of all the things he had expected to walk into when he came in, that was not it.He checked all the other rooms to ensure that Terrence hadn't got drunk and messed around again. Luckily everything seemed in its place which caused a sigh of relief to come out of Chance. He was entertained by the fact that he was worried about making a mess by a literal clean freak. Even though the growl of stomach came from Chance, Terrence acknowledged the fact that he was hungry as well. Without further ado, he decided to order some takeout and as a late celebration Terrence dug into the cake. Even though it was a day later, it was still his birthday cake. It had been ages since he got one. He mostly avoided his friends on his birthday and only got texts from his family. As for his last boyfriend, they gave him gifts, but never once did he arrange a cake.Once they were done with lunch and dessert. Terrence decided to check up on some of his patients that he had admitted and whom he left under the supervision of Dr. McGrath. He called and discussed some of the possible modes of treatment in a patient with doubtful prognosis. Terrence was deeply immersed in his conversation with his colleague, that is until he felt something on his waist.

Chance had two more days to cover in the peds, one of which was only clinic duty. Meanwhile, after two days Terrence was reinstated as well. Things were starting to fall back in place for both of them, with Chance starting his rotation in general surgery, while Terrence was getting acquainted with his work schedule.“I see you are back.” Dr. McGrath was the first one to greet him.
