A stranger in the bedroom

"Someone important” Aurora snapped.

Lucius walked into the room his eyes fixed on Mia, “I wanted you to come out of prison alone, didn’t tell you to bring injured cats with you” he said.

Mia’s eyes darkened at the insult but she didn’t respond, she just walked to where Aurora was and stood with her.

“She is not an injured cat, Lucius. You better watch your mouth !” Aurora shot back.

A smirk crept into Lucius’s face as he took a step towards the two women.

“Don’t show any weakness, he feds on that” Aurora whispered to Mia.

Mia tried everything possible not to show any fear or weakness while maintaining a calm composure.

Lucius opened his mouth to say something but he was interrupted by the ringing of his phone.

“I will get back to both of you” he promised before he walked away after retrieving his phone from his pants.

“Whoa” Mia breathed a sign of relief when he was  out of sight.

“So what do you think?, can you him seduce in 90 days?”

Mia’s mouth went agape as she gazed at Aurora, “no I can’t , you should find someone else to help you with that because I am out of here” she saw and began walking to the door.

She had wanted to turn the doorknob when her name was yelled. 

“Charged with drug dealings, murder, human trafficking. They would definitely give you a death sentence for all these charges”

“What are talking about?” Mia asked.

“Oh I am just reminding you what is waiting for you outside when you walk out of that door” Aurora replied, a devilish grin on her face.

“No, I am going to clear my name and all these charges will be brought down”

“And how do intend on doing that?. No one will believe you, see you either do what I tell you or you are not going to leave here alive”she threatened.

Mia took a deep breath and walked to where she was standing, “see there no way that he is going to accept me” she said.

“And how do know?, I think that you actually caught his fancy” 

“No, I must have looked familiar to him and his is wondering where he saw me from” Mia said and started pacing around.

“Wait a minute, you have met my brother before?”

“Yes, well not personally, he is the owner of the department store I work in and….”

Mia trailed off when Aurora started laughing, the laughter lasted for a while and Mia was just starting at her.

“What did I say that is so funny?” she asked.

Aurora stopped laughing, she held Mia on her shoulder and said, “dear my brother doesn’t care about anyone but himself, there was no way he would remember an ordinary worker in one of his stores, just no way”.

“But still I can’t do that” Mia insisted.

“You have no choice but you do that, you owe me two times and I will kill you if you refuse” Aurora said without batting an eye.

Mia’s breath hitched as she stared at her, she knew she can definitely do that and no one will even  miss her.

“I believed that I had made myself clear and if you do it well I might even consider helping you get your revenge on your ex boyfriend. Just do your best, sign those documents and bring to it me”  after saying that Aurora left the room leaving the half-scared, half-confused Mia who was wondering how her life got complicated like this. 

“Ma, do you want me to show you your room now?” a maid that came into the study asked her.

Mia looked at her and smiled, “wait a bit,” her gaze went to the floor where a piece of paper was lying.

Heaving a sign she picked the paper up, “can you get me a pen?” she said to the maid.

“Okay ma” the maid replied then left to get the pen.

The maid came back five minutes later with the pen, Mia took the pen from her and scribbled her name on the paper.

“Take me to Aurora” she said to the maid.

“Okay ma, follow me”

Mia followed the maid as she was led out of the study room, as they got into the hallway Mia was enveloped by an aura of elegance.

The ceilings seemed to stretch upwards, adorned with beautiful molding that danced across the plaster in delicate patterns and chandeliers that hung from the ceiling like frozen waterfalls of light. 

The walls, painted a soft cream provided a cozy atmosphere for the vibrant little sculpture that punctuated the place. The floors beneath her feet was polished to a warn sheen, they really took time in designing the hallway.

They continued walking till they arrived at blue coloured door, “this is her room, ma” the maid said.

“Okay” Mia replied and then knocked on the door.

“Come in”

Mia turned the doorknob and stepped into the  room,  “I brought the document" she said in a low voice.

Aurora stood up from the chair she was sitting on and replied, “you made a nice decision Mia, bring the document”.

Mia walked closer to her and handed the documents to her, she took it and examined it her lips curled into a smile when she saw where Mia signed her name.

“Nice job” she praised.

“Now all is now left is for you to do everything possible to  and make him marry you” she added.

“I get you okay, I am really getting tired of you saying the same thing over and over again" Mia rolled her eyes.

“And is there anything I need to know about your brother?”

“Already working hard, aren't  you?, Miss Mia. Well I will tell you everything you need to know tomorrow, just rest for today”.

“Okay if you say so”

Aurora then called a maid who she ordered to take Mia to the guest room, Mia started following the maid out but she stopped when she was about exiting the room.

“Do you plan to starve me tonight, Miss Aurora?”

“Tell the maid everything you need”

“Okay”

Mia left the room following the maid behind, her eyes scanned the maid she was following.

She was dressed in a nice tailored black suit and skirt  with a nice black shoe that complimented her feet.

The previous maid that took her to Aurora’s room was wearing the normal black and white maid dress.

She was very curious on why this maid one wasn’t wearing that so she asked, “are you here?”

The maid stopped walking and turned, “ yes I ‘m a maid but an elite maid, one that personally serve the members of the family” the maid explained.

“Okay, I get it now, thank for explaining” Mia thanked her.

“You are welcome, ma” said the maid before she resumed leading Mia to her room.

“We are here, ma” announced when they finally arrived at the room.

“Is this the room?” Mia asked.

“Yes ma, I made sure that it was properly cleaned. If you don’t like anything there you can just call me through the house phone ? the maid replied.

“Okay then and please I am starving”

“What would you like to eat ma?” 

“Anything edible” replied Mia.

“OK ma, your food will be ready in ten minutes time, meanwhile feel at home” after saying that the maid pushed a key into the door and opened it.

“I will take my leave now, ma” she added giving the key to Mia.

After the maid left Mia closed her eyes and took three deep breaths, trying to calm her scattered thoughts which were  flying all over the place.

Finally she was a bit calm so she turned the door knob and entered the room, the first thing her eye landed on was the soft pink mattress that seemed to be calling on her.

Without wasting time she walked to it flopping on it, immediately her body made contact with the mattress,she close her eyes feeling the nice softness of the mattress, it felt like she was in heaven, a soft feathery and relaxing heaven.

She could stay like this forever.

Mia moment of bliss was cut short when she felt a wet hand graze through her feet, she got up immediately and shifted back into the bed.

But then her heart dropped into her stomach when she noticed the man dilated eyes, there was no way she was going to escape this.

A tears slipped out of her eyes as she prayed for someone to save her.
