Chapter 108 Dad and son

last update Last Updated: 2026-02-01 04:15:45

Alaric's POV

I perked up when my father stepped out of my dad's hospital room. Adrian moved out of my arms and stepped to the side, allowing me to move forward and approach my father.

“How is he?”

“He's tired. Why don't you go in there and see him before he falls asleep?”

I didn't need to be told twice. I really wanted to see him. I pressed a chaste kiss to Adrian's lips before stepping past my father and slipping into the room.

The sound of the door closing behind me must have woken him, because his eyes fluttered open. I can't express the amount of relief I felt when his eyes opened, showing he was indeed alive.

It was a whirlwind of emotions when I first found him. I went from thinking he was dead to having him alive, then discovering how sick and hurt he was the next moment. I was scared he might not wake up from surgery. So seeing those eyes open puts all my fears at ease in an instant.

I moved forward, pushing the chair my father was using aside, and sat down on the bed beside

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 107 Beating hearts

Third Person's POV Lennox's heart pounds against his ribs as he steps into the hall to get a look at the Omega. His breath catches in his throat when he catches sight of his beautiful face as they wheel him past the private waiting room. With the nudge of the male nurse's chin from the foot of the bed, Lennox moved forward and was beside the omega's bed in an instant. “Is. Is he okay? Why is he still sleeping?” Lennox asked, confused and scared that his eyes were closed.“He's okay. He's just resting. He's still a bit out of it from the anesthesia.” The male nurse said. As soon as the last word left his mouth, the omega's eyes fluttered open, and the alpha nearly fell flat on his face. It was the most beautiful sight he'd ever seen. Those ice-blue eyes were beyond beautiful and showed he was still alive. The Alpha caught himself before he fell, only to almost fall a second time when he looked into the Omega's eyes again. The male nurse bit his cheek so he wouldn't laugh. He'd nev

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 106 Waiting

Third Person's POVOver three hours had passed, and still no word from the doctor. Alaric's arm stretches up over his head against the wall next to the window, bracing himself as he leans against it, staring out at the sky, watching the warm colors fill it as the sun sets. “Why did you attack Silver pack?” Alaric asked his father, who stood beside him, looking out the window. Lennox sighed heavily and turned away from the window, walking back to where he had been sitting and sat down. Alaric turned to watch his Father, waiting for a reply. “Ten years ago, we attended one of those damn annual events. I brought ten omegas with me, like I always had, and I let two go. One of them went to a pack four hours from here, and the other went to the Silver pack. The one from Silver pack escaped two weeks ago and returned here. He came back here because his dad was here when he left, and he was hoping he was still here.”“Was he?” Alaric asked, cutting his father off. He sighed a breath in

Third Person's POVLennox shot to his feet when the door opened, and the doctor walked out. He stepped forward, ready to hear how the Omega was doing, but was shocked when the doctor stepped back, and the nurses pushed the Omega's bed out of the room with him in it. He locked eyes with those beautiful ice-blue eyes for a brief moment before his bed was turned, and they headed down the hall with him. “What's going on? Where are they taking him?” The Alpha panicked and tried to follow, but the doctor reached up, placed his hands on the Alpha's chest to stop him. It took every bit of his Alpha blood to stop Lennox from plowing him over. But he knew if the alpha really wanted to, he'd have him on his ass.“Please relax, Alpha, and I'll explain what's going on,” The doctor pleaded.Lennox took a step back and let out a frustrated sigh that bordered on the sound of a growl. “Follow me,” the doctor said, tucking a clipboard under his arm and motioning Lennox and Alaric to follow him. • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 104 Answers and Questions

Third Person's POV Those ice blue eyes blurred as Lennox's eyes filled with tears. His mind, which was blank moments ago, was now filled with many questions. Questions he wasn't sure he'd ever get the answers to. Not since the person who holds the answers is now dead.Lennox allows the omega's lower half to rest against his thighs so he can free a hand. Then, with that free hand, he reached up and brushed the dirty hair away from the thin, frail face he couldn't pull his eyes away from. He wasn't sure what color the omega's hair was. It was so dirty he couldn't tell whether it was naturally dark or if something lighter lay beneath the filth. The Omega was way too light. He couldn't have weighed more than 60 lb. He could feel every bone under his touch. There wasn't an ounce of meat on his body. His skin is very pale, and he's not sure if it's from being hidden away from the Sun for far too long or if it's naturally like that. Scars litter his frail body, and newer wounds are scabb

  • A Beta's Heart   Chapter 103 Chaos

Third Person’s POV“Will you stop trying to grope me and focus on the road!’’ Adrian scolded as he pushed Alaric's hands away that had drifted between his legs. “I'm focused on the road! I can't help it, my hand has a mind of its own,” Alaric teased, flashing a smile.Adrian rolled his eyes and looked forward as they turned left onto the private drive that led into Alaric's father's pack.Their smiles faded when they reached the gate and saw a long row of vans a short ways past the gate. Alarmed, Alaric pressed on his father's link and nailed the gas, ignoring the guard who waved them down.“Not now, I'll talk to you when you get up here,” his father said, then abruptly closed the link. “What is it? What's going on?” Adrian asked as he shifted around in his seat, scanning the tree lines on both sides, trying to figure out if they're under attack.“I don't know. My father said he'll talk to me when we get up there.” Adrian looked into several vans as they raced past them. The Beta's
