“Happy birthday!” Everyone chorused loudly once the celebrant finished cutting the cake before an applause followed. Her aunt stood there with her husband and friend, all of them nursing twinkling eyes and curved lips.

It was as if the incident which happened earlier wasn’t visible to anyone, no one broached the subject since it was time to cut the cake and the celebrant was ignoring the matter even though the people involved were her own family members. What right did outsiders have to involve themselves?
