Part Two, Chapter EIghteen
Jean Luc's heart was caught in his throat as he beheld the sight.
"Hi, darling," Raven laughed. It was a sound that made his heart speed. The smile she had on her face, the newer one with the gentleness. Suddenly, Jean Luc knew who it was for. "Are you giving your uncle a hard time?"
The child still had that grin as he attempted to climb onto Raven's lap. Wild and ferocious, just like his mother. Jean Luc felt like he had stopped breathing.
"Yes, he did," Zak complained. "Didn't you?"
The child nodded enthusiastically, and the table exploded into laughter. Jean Luc met Raven's eyes and realised she had been looking at him. He knew then. He knew who exactly was the father of that child.
Raven ruffled the hair of the kid, then whispered something that made the child nod and sprint away with Zak behind him.
Jean Luc shot up from his stool without thought. His mind was racing as he stalked towards Raven and grabbed her wrist. It still kills him

"How are things going with him?" Margaret raised a curious brow. She did not need to expand on her question for Raven to understand who she meant. "Better than I thought," Raven said with a wide grin. She sat on her bed, surrounded by rolls of bandages for her knife wound from the day before. "He's definitely choosing to stay," Darrow said, leaning against the wall. "How are you so sure?" Zak asked. Celie was in front of him, checking which outfit suited Zak best. "Because Blake practically has that guy wrapped around his finger," Zak said as a matter of fact. "He's not letting Jean Luc leave. Not after he finally finds a partner to start playing that boring game with." That was true. Even as they were in the room, letting Celie dress them up, they could hear the screaming of the two men in the gaming room. Blake had somehow convinced Jean Luc to start playing 'Human Apocalypse' and they've been yelling profanities at each other ever since.
