27. A phase

“Ahem… I apologize for the interruption.” When we heard Grecia's familiar voice, we pushed each other away as if we were going to burn each other and stared at the person in front of us with widened eyes. My heart was still pounding against my ribs, but it was now much faster. This sensation of being caught doing something heinous (not like being caught stealing a cookie) is new to me, and it is not pleasant.

I fixed my gaze on Grecia as if I'd seen a ghost. As I stared at her unreadable face, my voice became stuck in my throat. Her hair was pulled back into a messy bun and she was dressed in a knee-length petal pink summer dress and matching heels. Logan's face appeared nonchalant as usual, but the fact that he is speechless indicates that he is also in shock.

“Grecia, W-What a shock. It's great to see you again.” As I stuttered, I mentally slapped myself. I stood there awkwardly as she alternated her gaze between me and Logan.

“Well, the surprise is on me,”
