23. DECISIONS TAKEN

Eventually, everyone in the house was asleep, except me and Ashton. I was lying on my bed, waiting for time to go by until the elders’ minds were all unconscious. When that happened, Ashton gilt-ed into my room. I already had Jack’s tablet in my room so I confiscated it from the desk and brought it to the bed. Ashton joined me on the bed. I briskly tapped my finger on the screen and Jack came on.

“Hey kids, I thought you were asleep by now”, he said.

“We would be, if we weren’t onto something”, Ashton said.

“What is it? Do you need my help with something?” he asked.

“Can I ask you something very quickly?” I said.

“Shoot”, he said.

“Can you control everything?”

“Technically, yes”, he said braggingly.

I rolled my eyes and said, “Everything? Including driving a car or flying an aircraft?”
