Chapter 10

If the drug Jane gave to Nathan was given to an ordinary man, he wouldn’t have known whom he slept with, but for Nathan, he knew that the woman he slept with was not Jane, even though his vision was not clear, he could still tell the difference, but now he couldn’t find evidence no matter how hard he tries.

Nathan couldn’t sleep, he laid down on his bed lost in thought.

“Could this really be an illusion? But why did a part of me refuse to accept that . Could it really be the little girl I had been looking for years? But why haven’t I seen her or found any information about her all this years? What is really happening? I must get to the root of this!”He murmured, before he finally drifted off to sleep.

This is the first time Nathan had encountered something he couldn’t handle.

Nathan had asked Jane that question today, trying to detect any form of anxiety from her, but she remained calm, the Jane he knows wouldn’t remain this calm and composed, if she was hiding anything from him .

Could it really be an illusion?

Meanwhile on the other side of the house, Jane couldn’t sleep as well, although she knows that Nathan doesn’t have evidence now, and the only evidence which is Stephanie, is no longer in the country, she was still worried, after all Nathan is not someone who easily gives up, especially now that he is suspicious of that night. She needs to inform her mother of the current situation.

The next morning, Nathan got up early , freshened up, got prepared, and headed to work.

When he arrived at the company, the employees who saw him began to gossip.

“I thought the CEO just got married yesterday, what is he doing at the company today? “

“Seriously, he should be on his honeymoon, not at the office!”

“You should have seen his face yesterday at the wedding, I don’t think the CEO is happy with this marriage ,” another person chimed in.

“I noticed it too, even though he rarely smiled, yesterday his face was gloomy all through the wedding ceremony!”

Jane woke up, she checked the time and it was already 10: 00 am .

Why did she sleep so late?

She stood up and went to the bathroom, freshened up, and headed downstairs.

On getting downstairs she called out to one of the maid and asked. “Where is my husband?”

“Young Madam, the young master has gone to work .” The maid answered.

Hearing this, Jane wasn’t surprised. Just as expected Nathan had gone to work a day after their wedding. No honeymoon, what did she expect when they didn’t even sleep in the same room, the only thing she got on her wedding night was three rules and a black card. Even if she couldn’t get Nathan’s love, she could buy the latest designers wears and any luxury items she wants.

She dressed up and went to see her mother.

“Mom, can you imagine that Nathan gave me rules on our wedding night , ‘don’t enter my room’ ‘don’t touch me’. ‘Don’t talk to me’. How can I live with him with all this rules!” Jane complained as she saw her mother .

“I was planning to invite you over, now that you’re here sit down let’s talk. Margret said.

“Jane, you are aware that Nathan doesn’t love you, and was forced into marrying you by his grandfather. Now that you’re married to him, your concern should be how to give birth to his child, and secure your position as Mrs Robinson, that way, even if the secret is exposed one day, you’ll still have Nathan’s flesh and blood , so he wouldn’t do anything to you and you can continue to be Mrs Robinson.” Margret explained to her daughter .

“Mom, how can I give birth to Nathan’s child when he doesn’t even touch me?” Jane asked.

“If Nathan won’t touch you, then get a man who will, find a man who will get you pregnant and I will handle the rest.”

“But Nathan hasn’t touched me yet, if I get pregnant with another man’s wife, won’t he divorce me? Jane asked, confused by her mother’s suggestion.

Nathan stared at her naive daughter feeling helpless , “in reality he hasn’t, but during the virginity test night, he thought he slept with you, so once you’re pregnant, you will make him believe it was from the virginity test night, even his grandfather will not doubt it.”

Jane panicked when she heard her mother’s words, it dawned on her that she didn’t tell her mother everything that happened last night.

Nathan is suspicious of that night and any more mistake could easily expose them.

“Mom, that can’t happen, Nathan is suspecting that I wasn’t the one that night, if he found out I’m pregnant, he’ll take me to the hospital and get a paternity test from the amniotic fluid, and if it turns out the child is not his…” she paused, looking at her mother who understood the underlying meaning .

Nathan is not easy to fool.

Although Jane couldn’t get Nathan’s love, she still cherish the position of Mrs Robinson, and doesn’t want anything that will threaten her position as Mrs Robinson. After all just yesterday, Nathan gave her a black card, and she could buy anything she wanted without worrying about money.

Margret could admit that Jane had a point, but right now she is out of options and couldn’t think of any other way, suddenly an ideal struck her, and her eyes lit up. “Why not drug Nathan and make him sleep with you, in that way, you can get pregnant for him.”

After considering it, Jane nodded, “got it! I will give it a try.” Even though she knows that with many people around the house, drugging Nathan this time around will be difficult, and Nathan might not fall for the same trick twice, but she decided to give it a try. Right now, that’s the only option she has.
