CHAPTER 4

“Anyways, let’s talk about something else to pass the time. We still have twenty minutes of free time.” She changed our topic.

“What do you want to talk about?” I asked, feeling bored.

We usually talk nonsense in our free time.

She held her chin as if she’s thinking. “Hmm… How about your sex life?” She then followed with a dirty smirk.

I rolled my eyes at her. Here she goes again, with that dirty mind of hers.

“I don’t have a sex life. Like what you always said, I am a boring b*tch and that means no one’s gonna be interested in me. And guess what? You’re right. And it is better that way. My life is so peaceful I could hear my own breath. You’re the one whose eighty percent showing off the skin on your body. We should be talking about your sex life instead. How about that?” I replied.

“Well, just because I am showing off too much skin from my body doesn’t mean I am also a f*ck girl. I also have a taste, you know. Even though someone like me is considered as slut or gross, I also prefer gentlemen. I don’t f*ck with those pervert maniacs in the club.”

“Then, our sex lives are both boring.” I said.

“Hmm… What if we do something fun for this month? It's been a hell of a week for us.” Alliyah suddenly suggested.

I frowned. “What kind of fun?” I asked, curious.

She moved her face a little and gave me a dirty smile.

“Why? Are you interested?” She then gave me a kinky smile.

“I also want to have fun, you know. Let me hear it and I might say yes.” I said, shrugging my shoulders.

“Let’s audition as p*rnstars. Someone who also works at the bar offered me to do so with big time money.” She said, almost whispering.

My hand immediately hit her forehead making her exclaim in pain.

“B*tch!” I slapped her shoulder.

She moved away from me, defending herself while laughing like a mentally ill person.

“What?!” She said while still laughing. “She said customers will pay you dollars. Lap dancing is the lowest offer you could give, but you are still going to get a lot from it.”

“HA!HA! Funny! People who manage that industry are heartless. They’re going to use and then dump you in the garbage bin if you become useless and ugly.”

She patted my shoulder. "Don't be too serious. I'm just kidding, girl. I ain't plan to be on that industry. But, the money is huge and tempting, but I'm gonna find a rich and old sugar daddy instead." She joke.

I rolled my eyes again. "You're such a social climber."

We just both laughed out our stupid conversation.

Me and Alliyah parted ways after we finished chatting and it was already time for us to go to our separate classes.

My night continued just like usual. Schoolwork after schoolwork. Our professors are giving us a lot of work. Even students who have strict time management wouldn't be able to study for the upcoming midterms with the amount of work they are giving us.

The professors on the minor subjects are the worst. They act as if their subject are the major.

I let out a quiet grunt of frustration.

I bid goodbye to my blockmates and then made my way out of our building. I went straight out of the gate.

I then started walking to the direction of my workplace. I took out my phone from my backpack to look at the time. It’s already 10:12 p.m.

But, there was something that caught my attention.

I had five missed calls from a caller I.D named Mr. Anonymous. I immediately realized who it was and about his offer.

He completely disappeared from my thoughts the whole night with too many things I was doing inside the classrooms. I was busy and I put my phone in silent mode to avoid disturbance during my classes.

I forgot about him.

He said eight sharp yet it's already ten p.m.

I unlocked my phone and saw his only one message. It was sent twenty minutes ago.

‘I’m still going to wait until you come. You can come anytime you want. I am going to stay here.’

I read his message.

What’s up with him? Why does he sound desperate to see me?

With his message, I immediately felt guilty for not showing up.

I have a soft spot in my heart even for total strangers. I would always feel pity even for people I don’t even know the names.

I’ve always been like this ever since. I know that this attitude could put me in danger sometimes, but my conscience won’t let me be at peace.

I let out a deep sigh before putting my phone in my pocket.

A final decision was formed inside my head. I’m still going to go into that cafe and see for myself who he really is. I’m curious, though. I get curious at anything, anyway.

I won’t lose anything anyway. I got nothing he could steal from me.

I remembered the location that he told me and I realized that it’s thirty minutes away. I can’t basically walk my way to that place. I’d be sweating buckets before I arrived.

I picked my wallet from my pocket and saw how much money I got. Only $7 left. I put it back again from my pocket and hailed a taxi.

I then said to the driver the address.

What I am about to do can be a good excuse for myself for skipping work tonight. I’ve been stressed and I am just a mere person. I also need to rest.

I suddenly thought of the location and name of the cafe that he told me about. It’s an expensive cafe and I’ve never been there ‘cause I can’t afford even the cheapest option on their menu.

So, he’s not going to steal something from me?! ‘Cause how the heck he can stay in that place for three hours without buying anything? Maybe he’s someone who has connections or maybe rich?

Well, I’m going to find out all the answers to the questions in my head tonight. May God bless and guide me for what I am about to do.

I held my phone and kept on glancing at the time. I started getting anxious.

After more than thirty minutes, the taxi finally stopped only more than four miles away from the front of the cafe.

I looked outside the window. The whole establishment was dark. I guess it’s already close.

Well, I guess I came too late.

But, I became curious when there was a pile of colored black and expensive cars right in front of the cafe.

“Uh… Mister, can you wait for me for a few minutes? I am just going to see something. Don’t worry, I’m going to give you a tip.” I said to the middle age man who was driving.

“Okay, ma’am. Just don’t take too long.” He replied.

“I will.” I then get out of the taxi.

The front door was closed. So, I decided to walk down the dark alley to look for the back door.
