I was staring at staring at the ceiling, even if I couldn't see anything in the darkness. Aiden was snoring beside him. It was louder than usual, probably because he was too drunk.

I knew I should get up and leave his bed because he might not like it if he saw me beside him. However, a part of me wanted to stay.

He couldn't remember me, but his body surely knew how to move against mine.

Aiden would always start slowly and carefully in our lovemaking. Then, he would amp up his pace and take me widely. He knew all the right places to touch me, and he knew all the right words to ssy to make me whimper in ecstasy. And he did all of that tonight.

I finally decided to stay and sleep beside him.

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face even after I closed my eyes and hugged me tightly. He purred softly before he turned to his side, facing me and wrapping his arms around me, tucking my head under his chin as he will always do.

It had been so long he had hugged me, and I know I would definitely have a good sleep tonight. So I let his warmth envelope me, cocooning me to sleep.

“ Aaahh…” Aiden's grunts woke me up.

My eyes snapped open, and my body immediately jolted. I sat up to look at him. Feat coursed through me because I remembered he was in coma, and I thought he was having a seizure until everything that happened in the last 24h hours sank in . My eyes darted to the clock on one of the shelves, and I saw it was already three in the morning.

His eyes were closed. It looked like he was dreaming.

“Aaahh…” He continued moaning, and sweat was forming on his forehead. His groans sound so sexual, like the one he would let out when we were having sex.

Is he having wet dream?

I raised the blanket and peered inside, letting the light of the moon cascading from the window light up the area I wanted to see. I was right he was sporting a hard erection.

A smile curled on my lips before my eyes widen because, suddenly, his fingers wrapped around his manhood. He kept groaning as he began moving his hand up and down.

The sight and sound coming from him caused tingles to spread through out my thighs. It excited me, but before I could decide what to do next, he mumbled something.

A name.

And it wasn't mine.

“ Emmaline….” It was so low, but enough for me to hear and enough for me to freeze.

My mouth hunged as I dropped the blanket I was holding, and I inched backward on my butt, away from his side. My lips quivered as I stared at me .

“ Emmaline….” He repeated.

I didn't hear him wrong. He was moaning her name.

My heart shattered as my eyes watered. I carefully got out of the bed and picked up my clothes, which Aiden tossed everywhere around the room before slipping them on. I didn't even givile him a second look as I walked out of the room and headed for mine.

So many thoughts were running through my head while my body moved on its own, grabbing every private belonging that I planned to take with me and stuffing it inside my small luggage.

I made a fool of myself again.

Why did I ever think he enjoyed having sex with me last night? I was so lost in my own ecstasy that I didn't notice he didn't even once utter my name while we were in the act. All along that he was touching and fucking me, he thought it was Emmaline under him and not me . My tears had stopped falling as the pain in my chest was replaced by anger.

I had no one to blame but me. I kept living in my own fantasy that one day, Aiden would fall in love with me. He didn't when he knew everything about me, so why did I think he would when he couldn't remember me?

I didn't know what to think anymore. All I knew was i was a victim of a cruel game or circumstances.

I looked around the room, making sure it was as tidy as when I came in before I walked out of the door and through the corridor.

I trod down the stairs and along the hallway of the house, where I witnessed the smiles and laughter that I shared with him. Even our random fights were a memory to behold.

The one year wasn't bad. It wasn't just meant to last forever.

My heart was heavy, but I knew I didn't want to stay here anymore.

Before Aiden, I was on my own, and I managed to survive. I could do it again. I learnt a lot during my stay, and I was grateful for that. I learned to be confident in my skin and not let anyone take advantage of me . I'll make sure to put it to good use.

It was the small reason I needed to leave. I would not let him and Emmaline or even Ivy, make fun of me.

I tilted my head up and refused to shed more tears, nor did I give in to looking around. I didn't want more memories clouding my head. I should focus on making new memories.

I didn't bother to call a cab, as I knew there were many passing by even at this hour, as Aiden made sure transportation was accessible 24/7 for those who didn't have cars or the capacity to drive.

I would have walked around 200 metres to get to the next taxi stop, but I didn't mind. I needed air. I needed to breathe.

I had no idea where I would go from here. The apartment owner I spoke to this morning could give me the key to his vacant room in three days as he was out on vacation. So, in the meantime, I needed to find a hostel where I could stay.

I didn't have much money with me. I only had cash because I didn't take cards. I left them all in Aiden's office before I went to bed. I also left the wedding ring that he gave me in his table, it was his family's heirloom. It was his mother's before he gave it to me on our wedding day.

I was still halfway from the taxi stop when the sound of screeching tires reached my ears.

I immediately jumped out of the way and into the bushes because it felt like it was heading my way. I hissed loudly as I landed on my butt, and t the same time, a black van stopped a few inches away from where I was standing earlier.

I pushed my body from the ground despite the pain I felt. I was about to knock on the car's door when it slid open, and before I knew it, I was pulled in, and I landed on someone's body.

I struggled and scream, but I guess it didn't help as the doors were already shut, and my hands were immediately bounded on my back before a cloth was tied around my mouth, suppressing me from making any sounds.

  • ARIA; THE FORGOTTEN LUNA     THE END

Aria's POV The sun was fully over the horizon when we finally walked out from behind the waterfall. Aiden carried our son tucked against his bare chest, wrapped in his leather cloak. I leaned heavily on my father, the King, and my mother, Kira. My legs felt like jelly, and every step was a struggle, but the heavy, pulling pain in my gut was gone. Aiden stopped by the edge of the river. He looked down at the baby, and then at me. His gray eyes were clear now, the fog from the spell completely washed away. "He looks like you when he frowns," Aiden said. A small, tired smile pulled at his lips. "He has your nose," I replied, reaching out to touch the baby’s tiny, sleeping face. "And your stubbornness. He didn't want to wait for a bed." My father cleared his throat. He looked at the three of us, his hand still resting on his sword hilt. The gold on his armor was dented and scratched. He looked less like a king and more like a man who had just realized he had almost lost

  • ARIA; THE FORGOTTEN LUNA    CHAPTER 130

Aria's POVThe ride to the Hidden Temple was a blur of pain and the smell of wet fur.Aiden had shifted into his large wolf form so I could ride on his back, my arms wrapped tight around his thick neck.Every time his paws hit the uneven ground, a new bolt of agony shot through my hips. My dress was ruined, dark with the blood that wouldn't stop leaking out of me. Behind us, I could hear the clatter of the King’s horses and the occasional sizzle of Kira’s magic as she threw sparks at the shadows following us.The sky above the valley was no longer just black. It was thick with swirling purple clouds, and lightning the color of a bruised plum cracked across the horizon. The air tasted like copper and ozone."We’re here, Aria!" Kira shouted over the wind.Aiden slowed down as we reached a tall stone archway hidden behind a waterfall. He moved through the curtain of water, his fur getting soaked, and stepped into a massive cavern lit by glowing blue crystals. In the center of the cave sa

Aria's POV"Damien?" Kira whispered. She was standing right next to me, her hand gripping my arm so hard her nails were digging into my skin. "Ivy’s son? I thought he was just a story."The wolf didn't answer with words. It let out a sound that was half-growl and half-laugh. It was Damien, alright. Ivy had kept him hidden for years, and now he was here to finish what the Shadow Council started. He lunged forward, his paws cracking the stone tiles like they were made of thin glass.Aiden didn't even hesitate. He stepped in front of me, his chest bare and his muscles bulging. He still looked confused, and I knew his memories were a mess, but his instinct to protect me was stronger than the spell in his brain."Get back, Aria!" Aiden shouted. He didn't have a weapon, but he lowered his shoulder and ran straight at the giant wolf."Aiden, no!" I screamed. They collided with a thud that I felt in the soles of my feet. Aiden was strong, but Damien was powered by something evil. The dark wol

Aria's POV"Aiden! No, please stay with me!" I sobbed.I felt the silver heat in my chest move down my arms. It was hot, like I was holding a bowl of boiling water. My palms started to glow, and the light wasn't soft this time. It was sharp and bright.I pressed my hands against his chest, and the silver light poured out of me. It covered Aiden like a blanket, soaking into his skin and chasing the purple smoke away. I kept pushing until my head felt light and my vision went fuzzy at the edges.Aiden gasped and his eyes snapped open. He sat up fast, nearly knocking me over. He looked around the garden with a confused look on his face. He looked at Kira, then at the burning palace, and finally at me."Aria?" he whispered. He reached out and touched my cheek, but his hand was shaking. "I know you. You're my wife. But... why are we in the dirt? Where is the pack?""He's confused," Kira said, stepping closer. She looked at the sky, which was still a sickly black color. "The spell ate part

Alpha Aiden's POVI ran up the back stairs, my claws clicking against the floor.I reached the library just as the bookshelf moved. Two men in black cloaks were trying to hack through the small door behind it. I didn't waste time talking.I lunged, my weight slamming into the first man and sending him flying into a pile of heavy history books. The second one tried to turn, but I caught his throat and tossed him aside like a piece of trash.I kicked the remaining wood of the door inward."Aiden!" Aria’s voice was a ragged sob.I shifted back to my human form, though I didn't have any clothes left on my upper body. I didn't care. I scrambled into the small, dusty room. Aria was on the cot, her face covered in sweat and her hair sticking to her forehead. Kira was standing over her, holding a small silver dagger.I pulled Aria into my arms, being careful of her large stomach. She felt hot, and her heart was beating as fast as a drum against my chest. I kissed her forehead, tasting the sal
