Josephine’s POV

“I just got news about Ian from P.I Stockings,” Francesco uttered, as we took our seats in the courtroom. “He has been officially declared brain-dead.”

“Oh my goodness!” I shrieked, clasping my hands over my mouth in utter shock.

Sure, Ian had done the most heinous thing ever by kidnapping Sabrina and I, I couldn't help but worry about grandma.

The poor woman was currently on admission for her worsening arthritis, and I couldn't even bring myself to tell her that Ian had abducted my daughter and I, talk less of informing her that he was now brain dead.

“A really sad ending for a promising man,” Francesco continued. “If only he never allowed his psychopath tendencies get the best of him.”

“This is all too sad,” I sighed heavily, as the judge entered the courtroom.

“All rise!” The court clerk commanded, and we all did.

We waited for the judge to take her seat before sitting down again.

Currently, Francesco and I were in America as it was the final hearing for Dr Derek's

Josephine’s POV As Francesco and I sat down at the dining table for breakfast, the doorbell rang, causing us to exchange puzzle glances.“We are not expecting anyone, right?” I asked, to which he nodded before getting up and going to the door.Standing up, I followed him as he opened the door to the last person I was expecting to see.His mum.Two days had passed since Dr Derek's court hearing, where we'd eventually learnt on that she was sentenced to fifteen years in prison.“Do you both hate me so much that you're not even going to let me in?” She asked, her smile forced and sad.“We were just taken aback,” Francesco said, then stood by the door. “Come in.”“Thank you,” His mum replied, properly entering the house. “Did you change the interior of this place? It looks somewhat different.”“No, we didn't,” Francesco replied, an impatient lilt to his voice.“We were just about to have breakfast. Care to join us?” I asked his mum, to which she shook her head in negation and chuckled.“

  • After Divorce, I Became A Hotshot Lawyer   Shot

Josephine’s POV The relief that flooded me when I sighed Francesco morphed into horror as Ian dug his gun into Sabrina's soft skin. Dragging myself off the floor, I knelt at his feet, with my hands wrapped around his legs as tears streamed down my face. “P-Please let Sabrina go, Ian,” I pleaded, desperation coursing through me. “I am the one you have issues with, not her, so take me instead of her, I beg of you.” Looking down at me, Ian scoffed before pushing me off his leg. “I will do whatever I want to whoever I fucking deem fit!” Ian spat. “If you don't want to see your daughter's brain scattered on the floor, I'd advise you to refrain from touching me, am I clear?” “Let's talk like adults, Ian,” Francesco spoke, walking towards the abductor stealthily. “How much do you want? Do you want shares in my company or better still, would you like to be the major shareholder of my company? That would automatically make you the CEO, you know.” Ian's hold on the pistol softened as he

Josephine’s POV “Mummy, my stomach is biting me and I feel really sleepy,” Sabrina croaked in my hold, causing tears of despair to clog my throat.“I'm sorry, baby,” I replied, as I had no idea of what else to even utter in the horrendous situation we were currently in.Heaving a huge sigh, I hugged Sabrina to myself and rubbed soothing circles on my belly, even though I knew deep down that my actions could do nothing to alleviate her hunger pangs.I had no idea how many days had even passed since Ian last visited us.But I knew it had been at least three days. Some days ago, his goon came, bearing a plate of takeout which I'd fed Sabina for the past days until it finished. As for me, I hadn't eaten anything ever since I got here, and was even convinced that my stomach had forgotten to remind me that it needed to be fed, after sensing my current situation.“Do you think daddy will ever find us, mummy?” Sabrina whispered, and I heaved a huge exhale for the umpteenth time that day.As

Francesco’s POV “So, what is next now?” I asked P.I Stockings, whose office I was currently in.Three days had passed since Josephine also went missing.I already had an inkling that the kidnapper was never going to let her go scot-free, and it was all a part of his evil plan to pretend as though he'd let her go with Sabrina, when all he wanted to do was abduct her as well.To think I could have just hired detectives to tail Josephine's car without hearkening to the bastard's warnings. Now, I had no idea where both Josephine and our daughter where, nor could we track them anymore.“I'm trying to build a website that will still enable us to track down the spy cam on Miss Josephine,” P.I Stockings replied, from where he was typing away on his computer.Raking my hands through my hair, I inhaled sharply as I paced the room frantically, inwardly wondering the type of Condition that Josephine and Sabrina were currently in at that moment.Hell, I had no ide whether they were even in the co

Francesco's POV “There are no buildings around this area on the map,” Private Investigator Dudley Hemsworth, uttered, as we stared at the computer's screen.I was currently in the police station with my team of private investigators, trying to track Josephine down, via the tracker I'd secretly put in her wristwatch while she slept last night.“We should keep looking,” I uttered, darting the other three private Investigators a look. “You are certain that Ian won't catch up with the fact that he's being tracked, right?”“Yes, sir,” Private Investigator Crawford replied, clicking the mouse. “Wait, I've got a signal around the oak tree. They are somewhere here.”Relief flooded my entire being as I stared at the pulsating red dot on the screen, inwardly hoping we could locate where Josephine was exactly.“You said you don't know who could have done something like this, right?” Dudley asked, taking control of the mouse. “Affirmative,” I replied. “I don't have any sort of rift with anyone.
