Instincts were very scary things.
Cillian's body moved before he realized it.
The very next second, a harp pain, akin to being stabbed, radiated up his back. He hissed and grimaced, but kept Bellatrix close, shielding her unconscious body as the plank fell down, hitting his back and crashing to the floor.
It didn't take long for Cillian to realize that the plank had hit him.
His back was in excruciating pain, and when he moved, it felt like a thousand needles were stabbing him.
"Fuck," He swore, his breath laboured.
However, despite the pain, he couldn't afford to dwell on it. Right now, he needed to get Bellatrix out of the building. That was the only thought that kept playing over and over in his head.
So, with his arms wrapped around her, Cillian turned and resumed his journey, albeit slower.
He could feel blood pooling down his back, could feel the wetness of his clothes and the pain. But he didn't care.
Right now, n
Regina turned red the moment she saw Bellatrix get on her tippy toes and lean close to Cillian, from her own perspective, kissing him.Her jaws clenched so hard and eyes grew so wide that beside her, Sarah feared she was going to burst from anger at any given moment. She raised her hand, debating whether she should comfort her or not, but at the very last second, just as her hand was about to land on Regina's shoulder, she withdrew it.She knew what it felt like to see someone you love dearly getting intimate with someone who wasn't even as good at them. She'd felt that piercing pain, that raw anger and valid jealousy, when she got wind of those pictures of Bellatrix and Damien right before they disappeared. So, she knew better than to try and comfort Regina. All she could do now was sit here quietly and hope that things don't get worse than they already were. But you see, the thing with wishes is that they never happen when you need them, o
The stuffing of the panda felt soft against Bellatrix's chest, but the smile that danced on her lips felt far too strained for her to ignore.Nonetheless, she met Cillian's gaze with a strange warmth in her gaze. For a second, he felt his heart stutter. His brows furrowed, not from displeasure, but from curiosity, the type that spoke louder than any words could. Was he missing something here? He wondered, allowing his eyes to roam her. He'd seen and experienced several behaviors from Bellatrix, all of which he'd programmed himself to get used to, but this...this side of her who smiled tenderly at him and gazed at him like he wasn't a murderer, like he hadn't wronged her all those years ago, made something stir in the pit of his stomach.Longing, raw and unrestrained.Without hesitation, he took a step forward, closing the distance between themBellatrix was briefly startled. She held herself back from flinching at the very last
Nathan stood at the entrance of the resort, cheerful and smiley as usual. As Bellatrix stepped out of the car, he waved at her and rushed over like an obedient child."Miss Astrix, how was your outing?"Bellatrix shot a quick look back at Cillian who hadn't yet stepped out of the car as he looked too engrossed in the work on his phone."It was ruined before I could even have an ounce of fun," she spat.Nathan was quick to pick up on the venom in her tone, but her words confused him.Fun? Didn't she go out for a meeting? Before he could ponder the matter any further, Bellatrix began walking away from the car and he hurried after her.As they stepped into the resort, she saw Sarah scurrying after Regina like a lost dog. Her eyes followed their disappearing back all the while until they were out of sight."Did you discover anything?" She turned to Nathan, asking in a voice that could only be heard by the two of them. The as
Everyone had evacuated the stadium by the time Bellatrix walked out of the backroom.Thomas sat in the passenger seat beside the driver, head held in between his palm as he muttered incoherent words.Damien leaned against the car, swiping away on the screen of his phone, somehow, he was able to pull off a good look with his racing gear and the button shirt he'd worn earlier today. He looked up from his phone the moment he senses Bellatrix approaching. Tucking the device into his pocket, he pushed himself off the car and offered her his usual smile."You disappeared back there," he said.Bellatrix walked up to him and stopped in front of him, so close that she had to tilt her head backwards to meet his gaze.Under the light of the sun, Damien saw the displeasure swirling in her eyes."What's wrong?" He asked, voice dripping with genuine concern. In normal circumstances, that tone would have gotten to Bellatrix, made her feel lik
The backroom door slammed hard against its ark, the sound vibrating through the walls strong enough to shake them. But Bellatrix didn't care. She was too fed up, too pissed off and close to committing murder, to care about the well-being of the walls. Her footsteps filled the dark hallway leading to the backroom, each step louder and more furious than the previous one as she stormed down the hall. How dare he?That was the only question that swarmed her mind, blurring everything else out.How dare Cillian threaten her? With her father's own shares!Shares that should have rightfully been hers had all this madness not happened!Madness that he caused, and yet, had the balls to threaten her!She hated him, no, she loathed him, so much that she felt like storming right back into that backroom and smacking that stupid, self center, coocky, twisted smile off that face of his. And afterwards, she'd proceed to beat the s
Silence settles after Bellatrix's words, the faint whisper of her slap echoing against the walls of the backroom. At her side, her fingers twitched, stinging from the contact it had made with Cillian's cheek, but Bellatrix didn't hate the pain.Instead, she relished in it, letting herself know that it was proof that she'd put Cillian where he belonged, and drew the line brand new with markers before he could think of crossing the fading one.Cillian stared at her, tongue poking the inner layer of his cheek as the sting pulsed, then travelled from his cheek to his heart, gripping it like hands hell bent on ripping it out of his chest. After a beat of silence, he finally spoke. "All this...for that bastard.""You're delusional," Bellatrix spat. "And this has nothing to do with Damien. Do you honestly think you can threaten me, ask me to be a good little wife after everything and get away scoot free," she chuckled, the sound bouncing off the walls of
