Chapter 6: Chapter Six: A Cold Family's Evening Banquet

She vomited once, and Mother Qin ordered another dose to be prepared. This cycle repeated three times until Camille Hansom dared not vomit again, swallowing a large bowl of bitter medicine with tears streaming down her face.

Anastasia Hansom! That wretched woman! Knowing full well that there was nothing wrong with her body, she had deliberately prescribed such a horribly bitter and ugly-looking medicine!

She would definitely take revenge! Revenge!

After Steward Hansom and Angelo Hansom returned home, they were still preoccupied with their mother's unusual behavior from earlier.

Frowning his pretty little brows, Steward Hansom paced back and forth in the room. "Angelo, what happened to Mom just now? Why did she suddenly get so nervous?"

Licking the lollipop in his hand, Angelo Hansom even found time to unwrap one for his brother. "The woman we saw today hurt Mom before, didn't she? Mom got angry when she saw her."

"What? She hurt Mom! How do you know that?" The mom-obsessed Steward Hansom jumped up, rushing to the study to turn on the computer. "Who is she? Tell me everything you know about her."

Originally, Steward Hansom had been thinking about the man he saw in the morning who looked very much like him, but upon hearing that his mother had been bullied, he immediately put that thought aside.

"I overheard Mom talking to Uncle Han. The woman is called Camille Hansom; she's the one who bullied Mom so badly that she left the country right after giving birth to us."

Both children knew how much their mother had suffered during childbirth. Hearing that it was related to Camille Hansom, Steward Hansom immediately went online to dig up everything he could find about her.

"The second daughter of the Hansom Group, Mom's sister?" Frowning, Steward Hansom quickly typed on the keyboard, hacking into the Hansom Group's network. "Dare to bully my mom, I'll make sure you lose all your money!"

At the Benedict Hospital.

Feeling quite pleased after outwitting Camille Hansom, Anastasia Hansom hummed a tune as she made her way to the director's office.

Sitting at the desk was a young man, elegant and poised, dressed in a white coat and wearing rimless gold-framed glasses. He was none other than Anastasia Hansom's savior and current superior, Bevis Benedict.

Hearing her footsteps, Bevis Benedict looked up and, seeing her in good spirits, couldn't help but smile. "Doctor, you seem to be in high spirits after taking my patient. Did you solve some difficult case?"

Anastasia Hansom laughed. "This difficult case is beyond me. How am I supposed to help a woman who hasn't even shared a bed with her husband to have a child? Should I stuff a Jesus inside her?"

Bevis Benedict chuckled at this.

He was well aware of Anastasia Hansom's situation and couldn't help but ask, "No intimate relations? Could it be that the Qin family member has some hidden ailment?"

Hidden ailment? Impossible!

Could anyone be more familiar with whether the Qin family member had any hidden ailment than Anastasia Hansom herself?

Thinking back to that night, Anastasia Hansom felt her face flush and her ears burn.

But Bevis Benedict quickly brought her back to reality. "Tonight, the Han family will hold a banquet for me. You should attend with me. Call home and make sure the two little ones are taken care of."

Anastasia Hansom immediately replied, "Is it formal? Do I need to prepare anything, like makeup or a dress?"

Glancing at her, Bevis Benedict said, "You look fine as you are."

The Han family was eager for his return, even going so far as to break him up with the girlfriend he loved, all because the legitimate heir had become disabled.

If he could recommend a highly skilled traditional Chinese medicine doctor to his esteemed elder brother, it would be quite appropriate, wouldn't it?

The entrance was filled with luxury cars, and the place was bustling with celebrities and socialites, creating a lively atmosphere.

After finishing several dozen medical cases, Anastasia Hansom hurriedly took a taxi to the venue.

Upon arrival, she realized how out of place she looked in her white coat.

Muttering curses at Bevis Benedict, she hastily stuffed the coat into her bag and rushed to the restroom.

Underneath, she was wearing a simple dress, but it looked too casual for such an event.

With no other choice, Anastasia Hansom entered the restroom and made some quick alterations to her dress.

Having studied fashion, she transformed the plain dress into a one-shoulder gown with a bow at the chest in just a few minutes.

Satisfied, she gazed at her reflection in the mirror and reapplied her lipstick.

However, as soon as she stepped out of the restroom, she suddenly felt a chill on her chest. Crying out in dismay, she quickly grabbed the strap around her neck.

How could the bra strap fall off, especially since it was so thin? Any sudden movement might ruin the carefully altered dress.

Just as Anastasia Hansom was in a bind, someone emerged from the opposite hallway.
